Roundstone, in the Connemara region, County Galway, lies on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay. The entrance to Roundstone harbour is marked by a large, round stone, and the bay itself is often referred to as Round-Stone Haven. Roundstone offers pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and a children’s playground, plus there is a traditional Irish night in the Summer and a number of festivals take place throughout the year. The village is very popular with artists both local and international, and plays host to the Roundstone Arts Week, a prominent date in the Irish arts calendar. Roundstone is full of historical and geographical points of interest including the remains of a monument to St Brendan, an impressive lighthouse and the bell tower of the Franciscan Monastery, which now stands in the Michael Killeen Park. Just 10 miles from Roundstone is Connemara Golf Club and further afield, there is great scenery to enjoy either on foot, cycle or in the car. The lively town of Clifden has lots if interesting things to see, while the Connemara National Park is just a little further.

The town boasts a good selection of bars and seafood restaurants with locally caught seafood. From this Connemara cottage, guests can enjoy first-class views across to Twelve Pins mountain range along with views of the harbour, and watch the fishermen as they land their daily catch, or even get out there and have a go themselves. Try your hand at mackerel fishing from the pier, or hop on one of the boats that will take you out a bit further, to see what you can catch out at sea.
