We stayed here just after Easter 2010, 2 adults and 2 8-year olds. Had a fabulous time, the kids loved the freedom of being able to run around, they loved building a dam and playing in the little stream at the bottom of the garden within our enclosure. The owner was friendly and one of the farmers showed us where the goats and pigs were so the kids could feed them. No shop or pub really nearby but that didn't bother us, as it was much better to eat and drink at home surrounded by the glorious countryside. Hot tub was great. Highly recommended for a relaxing family break and there are plenty of trips - the Elan Valley (dams) are beautiful, we also went horseriding locally.
Knighton 7 miles; Presteigne 9 miles; Ludlow 25 miles.
Set amidst lovely rolling countryside, the scattered rural hamlet of Llangunllo is only 7 miles from the market town of Knighton, on the banks of the River Teme which straddles the English/Welsh border. This is a renowned location for walking, riding and cycling, and Offa's Dyke actually passes through Knighton, which hosts the Offa's Dyke Information Centre. The Glyndwr's Way National Trail, Radnor Forest and the 84 mile long Radnor Ring Cycling Route are all close by. Visit magnificent Powys Castle with its celebrated gardens, the breathtaking Llanrhaeadr Waterfall, the Elan Valley dams, the lovely town of Presteigne with its famous Judge's Lodging, and medieval Ludlow with its famous 13th century castle, ancient buildings and wonderful restaurants. Enjoy feeding red kites, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, wonderful scenic walks and cycle trails. A fabulous all year round location for exploring the beautiful countryside and attractions of Mid Wales, Shropshire and Herefordshire.

Previous visitors' comments about Suran-y-Coed:
Shops and places to eat are 5 miles or more away so car needed but this is made up for by the peace in surrounding countryside.
Mr & Mrs Frewin, East Grinstead, June 2010
The farm setting and the farmers; incredibly helpful family.
Mr Wenban-Pike, Bristol, May 2010
Lovely area, rolling hills and small towns and villages. The lodge was superbly presented and equipped. The hot tub is a positive plus and the balcony gives great views of the farm; animals and birds. A special treat is to see hundreds of red kites being fed at Rhayader.
Mr Byrne, Milton Keynes, May 2010
The beautiful setting, the peace and quiet, the pleasure of being able to see our children enjoying the freedom of playing out in the farmyard ... and of course the wonderful hot tub!
