Birley is a peaceful, picturesque hamlet set amidst beautiful Herefordshire countryside, 7 miles from Leominster, at the heart of the border countryside where England and Wales nudge each other along Offa's Dyke. The area is a haven for walking and cycling and for discovering olde worlde country pubs. The half timbered town of Leominster, dating back to the 7th Century, possesses some fine architectural examples, such as the Priory Church, along with a wide variety of shops, cafes and pubs. Also close by is medieval Ludlow, famous for its 13th century castle, architecture and wonderful pubs, restaurants and shops. With Hereford’s magnificent cathedral, Mappa Mundi world map and chained library just a short drive away, this is a great location for a relaxing break in picturesque surroundings.

Surrounded by beautiful Herefordshire countryside, there is wonderful walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing to be enjoyed, as well as trips to Hereford, Ludlow, Symonds Yat and the Black Mountains. With the Ironbridge Gorge Museum and the Severn Valley Railway within easy reach, this is a superb base for a varied and enjoyable holiday.
