this cottage was excellent - loads of room - lovely condition - a property to be proud of - the owners were so nice (didn't interfer but kept in touch - it was like having your own holiday home - the "chocolate box" village was quiet with just a short walk to shops, pub, coffee shop - having the car meant we could travel around the area - plenty of tourist stops - costs reasonable - love to go again - thoroughly recommended
Newport 7 miles.
A charming, picturesque village, Brighstone is situated in the South West of the Isle of Wight, and is well known for its terrace of chalk cottages with their neatly trimmed thatched roofs, and is well served by a local shop, post office, tea rooms and a pub. A visit to the local museum gives a fascinating insight into village heritage, where smuggling was once a flourishing occupation! The sea is less than a mile away, with beaches at Brighstone and Compton Bays, and the nearby coastal path provides visitors with access to the scenic cliff top gardens at Blackgang Chine, the sandy beaches at Ventnor and the world famous “Needles”.

Previous visitors' comments about Grove Cottage:
The cottage was much bigger than we expected and is very well located. I will go as far as saying that it is my dream home. The Isle of Wight is a fantastic place and the people there are very friendly and helpful. I give this holiday 10 out of 10 and recommend it to anybody looking for either a peaceful holiday or a holiday with smaller children.

A beautiful cottage, very tastefully decorated and equipped. Fantastic exterior which was enhanced by the interior.
Mr Burnett, Washington, October 2009
The whole cottage and village experience was as picturesque and delightful as we could have hoped for and the hosts were splendid people, friendly and accommodating. The dog thoroughly enjoyed the new experience of the sea and we have every intention of returning to this place.
