This immaculately-presented, excellently located, Isle of Wight coastal cottage proudly stands on the highest point in the picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth.

Luxuriously appointed throughout to provide spacious, light, elegant accommodation, this Yarmouth cottage is perfect for families and friends wishing to enjoy a fun time together in one of the most unspoilt parts of the country.

Set over two floors, you will find spectacular panoramic views from the upper floor, whilst downstairs this Yarmouth cottage offers a stunning living space, with a second sitting room and impressive fitted kitchen with dining area, which leads into your sunny conservatory.

Outside this Yarmouth cottage, you will find a beautiful, south-facing English garden with table, chairs and gas BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining at the end of energetic days, and another beautifully shaded patio area, for the times you need to relax out of the way of the sun's rays.

In the heart of lively Yarmouth, with its year-round community, you will find a varied range of shops and delightful restaurants and pubs.

Why not pick up a boat from Yarmouth Harbour for a day's fishing in the Solent, or perhaps take a trip to the Needles?

Maybe take a walk along The Causeway towards Freshwater, beside the River Yar and you might spot a red squirrel or two, as well as the many species of birds that live there.

Under four miles away from your Yarmouth cottage, you will find Compton Bay, one of the island's most stunning beaches, where you can find the odd dinosaur print, sand galore and most breathtaking sunsets the island has to offer.

    • “We stayed at Chartfield for 3 nights, we we're lucky to get those three, as it's full for almost the whole of the summer !. Chartfield is a lovely 5 bedroom home, with sea views back to the mainland. it's within easy walking distance of all the amenities of Yarmouth and has a well equipped kitchen. the upstairs sitting room has a great outlook. if you get a chance to stay here please do it's highly recommended.”

    • “Excellent property”

    • “We had a wonderful week in this lovely spacious property which is exactly as described. We were 3 couples and needed to have 3 bathrooms to go with 3 double bedrooms so this fitted us perfectly. Linen was great and everywhere was beautifully clean. Beds were all comfortable. We had enough towels by using those in the other bedrooms. There is a beautiful 1st floor lounge with amazing views over the Solent. On the ground floor is another lounge as well as a huge kitchen/diner with conservatory into the lovely garden. There is an outside terrace with table and chairs. The kitchen is wonderful and fully equipped. There is a huge utility room with a massive fridge freezer as well as washing machine. We cooked evening meals for ourselves and had everything we needed including a dishwasher to help us feel it was a holiday! There is a good area for parking, advertised for 2 cars, but as there is residents parking in the street we managed to squeeze a 3rd car onto the driveway without a problem. (We had asked if that was ok) and it would have been easier if we did not all have large cars! I was able to pay by credit card and the contact for obtaining access was easy. The surrounding area is very nice and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance if you don't always want to cook so we were very happy. The island is beautiful and with the added advantage of our pensioner bus passes we were able to see it all for free! Would hope to return another time and would recommend to others.”

    • “This was the perfect sized house for three generations of one family to stay in. Plenty of space for all nine of us. The location, a short pleasant walk from Yarmouth, was ideal. The owners were very welcoming.”

    • “We had a wonderful stay in Chartfield celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary. There were 5 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for us all. The views from the property are stunning and the location was great as we could walk into Yarmouth for early evening dinner with the girls. We would definitely book the same property again and would recommend it. .”

About the location

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path, or why not take an energetic stroll across to the nearby Tennyson Down via the Red Lion Inn next to Freshwater's Norman Church of All Saints? Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, and is ideal for swimming and crabbing from the jetty. Yarmouth's historic water mill is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
