  • "Everything was as advertised, the owners were very helpful without being obtrusive."

Both properties warm and comfortable. Although the weather was a bit wet, we were able to get out and about to amuse ourselves. Tenterden is a place to visit, lovely little town with plenty of amenities. The only complaint was the holiday was over to soon. Thankyou, may see you again.

  • "We had a great time at Harbourne Oast for our family reunion."

It is located in a quiet location and close to Tenterden, by car, and vineyards Kent has got to offer. The cottage is perfect for a large group since you would not feel too crammed due to plenty of space. The cottage is perfectly equipped from kitchen utensils to household items. The fire place in the lounge is a bonus that will make your evenings extra special. The hosts, Zoe and Matt, made us feel very welcome but non intrusive.

We had the most special time here together as a family, helped by the perfect setting. A very cosy property, accurately listed, made a perfect venue for our family get together. The kitchen is very well equipped and the welcome hamper was a really thoughtful touch. The bathrooms come complete with complimentary toiletries and plenty of towels. The water is lovely and hot and the beds very comfortable.

  • "Cottage as described on the website."

It is a old building which has been nicely converted but obviously doesn't have all the mod-cons of a modern house such as en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom. The lighting in the kitchen is poor over the stove when you are cooking but it is a nice big kitchen and the view over the garden and the lake is lovely. The separate annexe is a modern building and is very comfortable and well equipped. The owners were welcoming and very helpful and overall it was a very good stay.

Lovely sitting room & kitchen, beautiful dining room with windows on either side. Stunning gardens full of flowers, & many places to sit outside. We sat out every night & looked at the pond. Our granny loved the Grannex, the smart (& spacious) one bedroom annex. Fun to see the cows on the drive in; rural, but a short drive into Tenterden.

  • "This is a fabulous property located in a beautiful spot."

The garden over looking the pond is to die for, and many hours were spent looking at the ducks. Our party were all used to farm noises but I guess some people might find cows mooing early in the morning annoying. Tenterden just down the road is a lovely shopping area with a wide range of shops. A very enjoyable stay and our Canadian friends were over the moon.

The house and Granex were perfect for us. We were a family group of 11 spread across 3 generations. The house was comfortable and very well equipped. Zoe and Matthew were good especially when we had a power cut caused by a broken telegraph pole. Oddly added to the fun of the holiday. A couple of the children are keen to return at some time. Rod

The website description could do with a bit of clarification to better describe the layout. For us it wasn't an issue but a floorplan or clearer layout info might benefit people making their choice. Absolutely full of old world charm, so nice to see a barn and oast house conversion that has retained as much originality as possible, so many places are over-renovated and sanitised, Harbourne Oast strikes a beautiful balance of character with sympathetic modernisation. Very happy with everything during our stay, warm, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and a great range of facilities in a lovely location.

We all loved the property there was a perfect amount of space for socialising between the kitchen and living room and landing area. The rooms were very spacious and we were able to fit travel cots in them. The hosts were very kind and left us a welcome basket with lots of things including eggs, bread, jam. Plenty of toiletries were provided in the bathrooms. The only very small issue we had (only relevant for people putting young children to sleep earlier) was that the stairs leading up to the bedroom were so creaky it woke up our toddler everytime we went up, but clearly we have a light sleeper!

The dining room was fantastic, with a view of the pond and the ever entertaining ducks. Great outdoor space with two pretty gardens. Our only misgiving was the late check in time of 5pm coupled with a very early check out time of 9am. We felt we lost half a day of our holiday. The lounge felt very homely and the views onto the pond were lovely. • "Harbourne Oast is an absolute gem nestled in the Kent countryside, with beautiful views in every direction and a gorgeous pond with 4 delightful ducks and a school of fish."

It is conveniently located near to Tenterden, which is a charming market town and there are plenty of places to visit nearby, including Camber Sands, which is only a 1/2 hr drive. From the moment we arrived our hosts made every effort to ensure we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. Everything about the facilities has been well thought through. As a family of 10 - 4 kids (ages 1-8) 4 parents and 2 grandparents - we wanted somewhere that could support differing needs. The Annexe or “Grannexe”, was a particularly excellent feature. Allowing grandparents a haven from the noise of the kids, while being a destination of choice most mornings tor the little ones to acquire a second breakfast! Great memories have been made and will be cherished for many years to come. A few of words of caution, this is an historic house, so comes with many of the features one might expect, such as some very creaky floorboards and doors. Also, if you are taller than 5.11, watch your head on some of the low door frames! For any older guests and/or those with mobility issues, the annexe is perfect. Beautifully presented and perfectly apportioned. The main house proved a little difficult for my mother to access at first, however, Matthew swiftly constructed a wooden step to allow her to be able to join us for family meals in the fantastic kitchen and dining areas! This was hugely appreciated and indicative of the lengths to which our hosts went to ensure we were comfortable. One final note, the 9am checkout (due to COVID) is a little challenging, so would recommend packing the night before! The pictures online really don’t do it justice, has it to be seen. All in all would highly recommend!

Everyone was happy with the property and surroundings. Property is clean and with extra cleaning due to pandemic. The communication to the owner was nice and easy! Plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area, and its big enough for you to stay in and chill out. We managed to do sky watching during our stay, we saw shooting stars and the Milky-way! This was really an additional to our holiday! My hubby and I get to stay at the Annex, it is not linked to the main barn, but not far away! Its good to have our own little space with quiet and peace. Most of beds are really comfortable. One thing I need to mention is that we were not left enough coffee capsules, only 10. Yes, there are some instant coffee sachets, could be nice to supply more capsules, at least one per person per day. Nor enough dish washer tablets, or washing machine detergent supplied. They are minor, but would be perfect if we would not have to buy our own.

The living room also large enough for a house full to sit comfortably with the fire going and board games to play it was perfect. The other amazing thing is the location, about a mile to the nearest shop, but feels very remote, all we could hear was farm animals and very little light pollution too.
