Swinside Cottage

Superb cottage, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable bed and great shower.

Only negative was difficulty parking at certain times of day. We would have no hesitation in booking again.

Swinside is a great place to stay for two adults and a small child.

Everything we needed inside and close to town. Parking easy enough on nearby streeta or Skiddaw Street car park within a short walk.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage last week.

It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The cottage was warm and cosy and so near to the centre of Keswick whilst still being in a very quiet street. My husband and I were really happy with it and would definitely come back.

Lovely cottage.

Met our expectations. Helpful information and reading materials. Comfortable furnishings with nice touches. What would make the experience better: Shower screen leaking so bathroom floor often wet. May be the cause of squeeky bathroom floor. Would benefit from another wine glass as only one available.

Parking could be difficult.

There was only one toilet roll.

We had a great stay at Swinside,it provided everything we needed.

We would definitely stay again.

Lovely comfortable cottage in Keswick.

Everything you could want from a home from home. Sufficient crockery so you could use the dishwasher if you wanted. Good shower. My only critical comment is that the duvet was much too warm for the summer months.

It would be better if you could provide shower gel for the guests.

Most places I’ve stayed, they provided shower gel. Also, there was a smell of damp in the bathroom— not sure where it is coming from. Overall, it’s a very clean and comfortable stay. The kitchen is well-equipped. It’s in a good location, near the centre. Lastly, they provided lots of guidebooks and maps for the Lake District, which is handy for hiking. Would stay again.

We chose Swinside Cottage, because it looked cosy and comfortable and it duly fulfilled all of our expectations.

The property was spotless and everything one needed could be found on site. The beds were comfortable and warm and it also came with a plethora of modern appliances, should they be needed. A washer/dryer, dishwasher, modern hob and oven .microwave etc etc . It is also only a hop, skip and a jump away from the town centre. We would recommend Swinside Cottage to anybody wanting to have a splendid time in Keswick. Kind Regards Mike & Audrey

A comfortable, centrally located, cottage ideal for 2 people.

Comfortable large bed in a good sized bedroom. There is a powerful over the bath shower in the small bathroom. A well equiped kitchen that has most of the utensils needed for a weeks stay. This is our 2nd stay in this cottage and I'm sure we will return again. There is no back door at this property so only a front door.

Very cosy, very neat and tidy in a quiet location.

Highly recommended.

Great house for what we needed and would stay again.

This was our fourth visit.

The cottage is ideal for us with everything we need. It is comfortable and very well equipped and in a great location. The only problem this time is that the shower screen leaks and water pools on the floor. We have reported this before and it was fixed but is now leaking again.

A lovely cottage which was close to all amenities and had everything we needed.

It was a comfortable place to stay and would definitely go back again.

Nice cottage in a good location, only slight issue is the difficulty in parking at busy times.

A lovely cosy cottage had everything we needed close to all amenities and walks shower was amazing, overall was very clean appart from the glasses don't think the previous occupiers had cleaned them everything else was spotless would definitely stay again.

Well located for Keswick and getting out for walks.

Would happily go again.

This was our third stay at Swinside cottage.

It was very comfortable and well equipped as always. It is an ideal location and would back again.

Very comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a lovely stay in Keswick.

Thank you.

Our second visit to this very comfortable cottage.

It is very well equipped and in a good location. Our only concern is the shower screen which leaks after every shower onto the floor and needs to be replaced. Would highly recommend this property

This was our second time at Swinside This cottage is cosy and comfortable with everything you need Ideal location Excellent Would return and would recommend to others

Comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a great location.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage.

Good location. One of the best we have stayed in. Everything was well thought out - would highly recommend.

Excellent staff extremely clean and had everything we needed, would definitely recommend

It is a lovely holiday home.

Very close to the town centre. The bed was very comfortable however I can't say the same about the sofas. We had an issue parking as Keswick was so busy. We had to park a few streets away and walk to the house with our luggage.

Nice, comfortable cottage with good facilities.

Will definitely be back :)

This was a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage, making a good base to visit the area.

Loved having a washer dryer to launder our clothes, especially as our own washer at home is broken. Our only difficulty was the parking outside. There was a lot of competition for any available space. My husband eventually managed to park there after a few days.

We are frequent visitors to Keswick This was our first time at Swinside Cottage One work to describe this property - Excellent Would definitely return and would recommend to others

We loved everything about Swinside cottage and are already planning to go back.

It was perfect. Close to the centre of Keswick but set on a quiet street. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything needed to turn a weeks holiday from good to brilliant.

My husband and I had a lovely 3 week holiday at Swinside Cottage.

Although it is compact it is fully equipped for all your needs. It's clean, quiet and in a great location. The beds are extremely comfortable. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in their property, because they have taken great efforts in the decor and maintenance . It's perfect for walkers. It has every map that you could ever need for the area!

Me and my boyfriend found the pillows quite uncomfortable to sleep on but other than that everything was great!

Bed was super comfy, the cottage was spacious and clean and the town centre only a 5 minute walk away.

A lovely little cottage in the heart of Keswick.

It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Very warm and comfortable and had everything you would need for a great holiday! We loved the fact that we could walk to lots of places from the cottage.

Would not be able to stay again or recommend as becoming non dog friendly cottage on the holiday cottage listings so would only book a dog friendly cottage when we come to Keswick each year for a break away with our small dog.

We would look elsewhere for dog friendly properties or accommodation. Such a shame that we won’t be able to return with our dog as the cottage is great, really clean and good central quiet location.

Lovely property, very clean (credit to the cleaner on an excellent job).

Kitchen equipped with high quality appliances and crockery. Well situated for Keswick town centre. Would recommend a visit to Laura in the lakes, Hope cafe and The Dog and Gun, all dog friendly and excellent food and service.

We really enjoy our stay - the house is modern, and the amenities are well thought out.

Love the subscriptions included with the TV - Netflix etc - which made good entertainment on some very wet days. Bed very comfy. Kitchen well equipped. Good location. Thanks again

Cottage is still very well equipped.

Having Netflix is a bonus especially as the weather in Keswick is very changeable!

This cottage is very well decorated and maintained, also very clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday, the only problem is parking as Covid has ment more people than normal in Keswick we where lucky when we arrived that someone was leaving so we managed to park the other side of the road opposite the cottage so we could leave our car there all week, as our friends where staying on a caravan site and took us out and about.

The house was very clean on arrival and was fully equipped with everything you could need.

Nice touches like the OS maps and Netflix account were appreciated. We will stay here again.

Swinside Cottage is a lovely house with everything you could possibly need, spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and excellent shower, a five minute walk takes you to the centre of Keswick but the house is situated in a very quiet road, would definitely stay here again.

A Very Convenient Location for Keswick town area , easy access on foot , and also walks around the park and Lakeside.

We managed to park adjacent to the property throughout our stay ,but parking in Keswick can be difficult no matter where you are located . We had a lovely stay .

Superb accommodation everything you need and much more ,it’s a credit to the owners.

They have thought of everything. We will be back in the future for sure .Everything a stone’s through away.We loved it

Swinside was a very nice place to spend a few days.

It was immaculate on arrival and has been simply but tastefully modernised. All appliances were of high standard and detailed instructions on how to operate them were left in a folder. Due to the Covid crisis the cleaning regime has been modified and again detail instructions were left for both guest use and also to inform the guest what the cleaner is doing to keep things safe. Sanitiser and spray cleaner are all provided. It gave such a feeling of confidence in the property. I'd definitely recommend Swinside.

Cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have a king size, cottage was in an ideal location meaning we could leave the car and walk to the many places we visited, would definitely book to stay again

Spotlessly clean, modern and warm.

Lovely week spent in Swinside. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage, really well equipped and spotless!

The location is great too. We had a brilliant time, thank you

This lovely cottage was perfect for our party of 2 adults and pet dog.

There was an extra single bed in the bedroom if needed. The location was right near the centre of Keswick and walks right from the door. Parking is a bit tight in this area but we had no problems finding a space on the street. The cottage was lovely and cosy & had everything you need.

The cottage was hard to fault.

We were delighted with the quality of the accommodation and all the fixtures and fittings. It is situated conveniently close to the shops and pubs. We, including our dog Lady, would highly recommend this cottage.

Great week as always at swinside, stayed here many times and will def be back

We have stayed at this property several times because it's so good.

Location is good. Not too far to walk down to the lake, theatre, cinema, park and around town, Very well equipped and furnished with good quality items. lots of little extras provided catering for every need and a very comfortable bed. It ticks all our boxes thanks to very thoughtful owners. Just love it.

Swinside is a fabulous property.

It is a credit to its owners, very well equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings. Extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bath was a welcome luxury after a day’s walking. In the morning the shower was exhilarating, hot and powerful. Great location, easy to access and a short stroll from town. The only downside is the roadside parking as spaces can be in short supply.

brilliant location

Bath showers are awkward to step into and to maintain balance, a walk-in shower would be safer and more comfortable, especially for elderly people.

The maps provided of the LD were basic and didn't really provide an indication where to go. Some clear walking routes of the area would have been helpful. The lack of roadside parking availability was problematic. We had to search 15-20 minutes every afternoon to find a space in the proximity of the property (not the agency's fault). In terms of value for money, the cottage is in a very good location and it is peak summer season, nevertheless the price for the 4 nights, we found on the high side. When comparing to eg Park Hotel with full breakfast included, price of cottage wasn't really that competitive. However, we still had an enjoyable stay and made the most of the gorgeous area of natural beauty. Accommodation for us was a secondary factor of our holiday.

Quiet and comfortable cottage gives a home to explore the whole district.

Lovely cottage in a great location, close to everything you would need.

Comfortable & clean. Close to some lovely walks & very assessable to other lakes & attractions. The only thing that was tricky was the parking.

What a fantastic break we had!

Swinside Cottage is beautifully appointed, warm, comfortable and it would suit anyone who wants to be in the heart of Keswick. From furniture to crockery, everything was high quality and after much discussion with my husband, we decided on a score of 11 out of 10! Very impressed indeed!

Never moved car for three days walks only ten minutes away shops pubs five minutes

Perfect location.

Not too far from town centre, parks and lake. Great for a stroll or a meal /drink in the evening. Couldn't fault the accommodation. Owners had furnished and equipped the cottage very tastefully and to a high standard. The bed was really comfortable and much appreciated after a good days walking. We have spent three holidays there and will continue to do so in the future as it most definitely ticks all our boxes.

After been out for the day we totally chilled out in cottage just like home from home ,our dog Indi actually settled in straight away which wasn't normal for us she normally walks the floor all night but she crashed out in her own bed all night and rest of the week ,first time for us ,the cottage is a credit to the owner .

We would definitely go back to this cottage again.

Nearby parking can be tricky.

Good position to be in for walks and town. Cottage comfy and welcoming, decorated and furnished to high standard.

The cottage was in a perfect location for our holiday.

Close to the lake , town and walks. Lovely and cosy and very quiet all day and night.

The cottage was fabulous, lovely size that we would of loved it for our own home.

But it would of lacked space for all our clothes especially our daughter's. (Who has special needs.) Would go again and again. THANKYOU for making our stay enjoyable.

Great location in centre of Keswick, really close on foot for everything we needed.

Only used the car to drive to other areas outside of Keswick. Initially concerned as previous reviews mentioned parking problems - however we didn't have any issues parking outside for the entire week. Power shower was fantastic and the beds were wonderful. Although very small, the kitchen everything we needed to prepare all our food for the week. Only minor comment on the house is that the leather sofas are not particularly comfy - especially after long days walking! Strong wifi was a bonus. We love Keswick and will certainly be back - this trip is becoming a yearly tradition for me and my mum :)

Excellent property.

Ideal location. Suited the two of us. Furnished to a very high standard and lots of thought had gone into ensuring we had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for more. Our second stay here and we have another week booked for later in the year. Can't wait! B & G from Wolverhampton 9.06.18-16.06.18

The only problem was parking ,had to search for parking spaces but would go back again it was a lovely cottage and only five minute walk to town centre.

The cottage is in a perfect position for walking to the shops and so quiet even although you are surrounded by properties.

Fantastic place all round.

Fantastic cottage, cosy and well equipped.

Ideally situated for town, lake, parks, shops, pubs. Beautiful refurbishment recently. Will def be back.

Fantastic cottage, very well equipped and comfortable.

Cosy and warm with easy access to town and Derwent Water within a 5 min walk. Good WiFi. Lovely recent refurb of what was already a great cottage. Been twice now and will def be back.

Parking outside the property is a serious problem during the day.

Basically you just won't as shopworkers in Keswick park outside the town and walk in to work. I can only assume that you airbrushed out all the cars in the picture of Swinside as cars are parked all day (workers) and night (occupiers). Our first time booking a property in a town and probably the last as I like to be parked fairly close to the property at all times. I am a keen recycler but all items had to be placed into purple plastic bags of which non were provided in the property, you were expected to go to the council offices to get them. Thats a no-no. We were on holiday and not traipsing around town looking for the relevant office. We will not be back at Swinside.
