  • "Love the stay there."

I didn’t even wanted to come back. It was amazing experience. Just the mattress and pillows were not comfortable. the rest is more than 5 star. Love to go again and again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We just replaced all the mattresses at Stanley’s, so hopefully you will come back soon to experience the new comfort Property Owner

  • "Could do with a mattress upgrade in double bed, very soft feel the springs."

Sharp knife, pizza cutter ,lights above bed not working. We had no bedding to make up sofa bed.

  • "Not really for 4 people 2 adults 2 children ideal."

Situated a bit too far away for us. Lovely home but not for us. Prefer more space. With having a dog needs to be more secure. Weather a let down for first time in lakes but that's just a personal comment can't help weather. Thankyou.

  • "It was the best holiday place, the house was so cozy that we were feeling like to stay inside the house whole day, and the spots are also nearby to this area."

Whoever is planning to visit Lake District, they must stay here and enjoy the beauty around the house.

  • "Great caravan and lovely well kept site."

Caravan had everything we needed Only thing would say is mattress was rather soft and as an arthritis sufferer wasn’t great for me. Would have liked patio door out to veranda and gated veranda so safer for our dog That being said I am not rating the caravan as bad- we loved it. Great places to explore close by. We couldn’t fit everything in there’s so much to see We visited lots of lovely places and have made some lovely family memories. Thank you

Thank you for the feedback. We have bought new mattresses so hopefully these will be more comfortable for you Property Owner

  • "A lovely stay in a lovely place!"

!! Thank you very much. Maybe putting a 'Welcome to Stanley' Santuary' on the front of the welcome pack would have made it easier to find when we arrived. Thanks for everything!!

  • "The caravan is clean and comfortable and on a quiet site with some great views."

We had a small problem with the electrics in the caravan which the site manager found was a blown bulb which had tripped the main consumer unit. The next day Alison the owner rang us to say she was sending an electrician to check the electrics and replace the bulb, what more can you ask for, superb service. Thankyou Alison. Note for Alison only, there are no sharp knives to cut meat, bread etc, that's the only negative we have, sorry, John , Sally and old Jackrussel Jackson (his dad was called Jack)

Thank you John for your feedback. I will address the knives issue as there were some there before - sorry about that. So glad to hear you enjoyed your time and the electrical issue didn't stop the fun! Edit - More sharp knives have been put at Stanley’s Property Owner

About the location

COCKERMOUTH

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
