    • “Beautiful Lodge - Well equipped and ideal location”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “High standard of lodge that allows dogs. Exceptionally clean and well equipped for self catering . Great cooking facilities: fan oven - gas hob - fridge - separate freezer - microwave and toaster - dishwasher & washing machine. Provided with good hoover , sweeping brush and mop bucket (essential with dogs that have been on the marsh) Power showers in both en-suite and main bathroom. There is no WiFi which is bliss - my 14 year old did not even miss it ....... Plenty of hanging area in the bedrooms but could do with more drawer space. Comfortable beds . Amazing hot tub, especially after walking all day. There is no enclosed garden , a small square of grass beside the hot tub.. so need well behaved dog(s) - we bribed ours with some pigs trotters that you can buy at the pet shop in Grange over Sands - worked a treat :-) Great pub - Pheasant Inn at the top of the track - provides friendly service and excellent food (best to book) Feel secure as the area can only be entered by a gate with a security code. Great location to explore the South Lakes.. Higginsons butchers in Grange over Sands and the bakery in Arnside highly recommended !! Be aware that dogs are not allowed off leads in the area of the Lodges or in the bedrooms. Comments in the Visitors book suggested taking logs if you go in the winter.. but if you are going self catering to somewhere with a log burner.. would think this would go without saying .. All in all , a great week and the Cumbrian weather was good to us.. A great Lodge and will be going back ..”

    • “This lovely cabin was spotlessly clean and had everything you need for a stay in a beautiful area. The only thing it could benefit from is Wi-fi and a collection of some old DVD's for those cold winter nights snuggling by the fire.”

    • “Very comfortable”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “This is a lovely cabin on a quiet site just 2 miles from the centre of Grange-over-sands. As a couple with an active dog we found this a great base to explore from but also an excellent place to just chill. The quality of the accommodation is excellent and all our needs and comforts were well catered for.. the only thing missing was a non- stick frying pan :) The pheasant pub at the end of the track that leads to the cabin offers a warm welcome to both you and the dog and serves up some great quality food and some good beers. We're not big hot tub fans but we did enjoy a soak after some of our long walks... speaking of which, the walk around Rydal water (40 mins drive) is really nice. We'll be back.”

    • “Ideal Property to Relax in Comfort”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “Westmorland Lodge is the ideal property to relax in comfort. The lodge is appointed to a very high standard throughout topped off with an excellent hot tub. The setting, surrounded by the coastal countryside and farm land, is lovely and is well placed to visit all of the attractions the northern Lake District has to offer. Our two terriers had a great time on the Coastal Walk and along the Grange-Over-Sands Promenade and many of the local attractions are 'dog friendly'.”

    • “The approach lane to the property is rather disappointing but once on site things do improve. The accommodation is great and my only problem was the steps to both front and rear access were high. (I have arthritis and found the steps difficult to climb and fairly dangerous to descend - I left a suggestion that a paving slab on top of the lower step would raise it sufficiently to make the steps safer - I don't know if this has been done) Otherwise a great place to use as a base for touring the area. The furnishings were like new and everything was spotlessly clean. Logs for the fire were cheaper from local garages.”

    • “Relaxing”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “A very relaxing week in this cabin. Log burner was fab on the cold nights and Hot tub very warm after a day walking. Only thing - it was a bit open to the road as the conifers not yet grown around it. Suggestion would be to put a wooden Gazebo type cover over the Hot tubs so can be used more in any weather. Looks like more cabins being put on the site but please don't do too many as this will spoil the peace n quiet of its beautiful surroundings.”
