About the location

Arnside

Kendal 10 miles; Windermere 17 miles.

Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the town offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the town are the 15th century Peel Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area. Within easy touring distance are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland.

Excellent location of property.

Mrs Creedon, Southampton, January 2014

Apartment fantastic, caters for everything from games on rainy days to picnic baskets for outdoor activities! All rooms finished to an amazing standard and spacious through-out. The views (especially from the bay window in the lounge) are great and will stay with us forever! All in all, an amazing and memorable stay - can't wait to come back.

Mr Torkington, Stockport, December 2013

The flat was lovely, homely and stylish, well equipped with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Top marks!

Ms Manclark, Sheffield, December 2013

The accommodation was superb. The view across the estuary to the fells beyond was stunning. The apartment itself had absolutely everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable and the living room cosy. When a minor hiccup happened, the owners sorted it out straight away. The central location is so handy for shopping, eating and leaving the car behind with train and bus literally on the doorstep. The walking and wildlife in the area is outstanding. Loved every minute of our stay.

Mrs Walker, Burnley, September 2013
