This was our second visit and the welcome we recieved was on both visits fantastic.We were made to feel at home straight away by the owners.The house was for us ideal lovely warm and cosy when we stayed in the Spring and so attractive in Summer.The location is perfect for walking or driving the many scenic routes on the doorstep. Plenty of places to eat from country pubs to restaurants and if the weather is bad several places of interest nearby to visit.The owners were great always willing to help but not intrusive.The best part of the stay for my wife was when Doreen during a busy lambing period somehow found the time to let her bottle feed a lamb,many thanks Doreen you made her day.Though we have already been twice we will hopefuly be returning this year.

The small hamlet of Mickleton is situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale, close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton in Teesdale and within a few miles of the market town of Barnard Castle. Mickleton itself consists of a cluster of stone houses along a single street and offers a post office, village shop and two pubs. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep with The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force all close by.

Mickleton 0.5 miles. An immaculate Grade II listed stone built cottage recently skilfully modernised to offer superb holiday accommodation. Furnished, equipped and decorated to a very high standard. The owners live in the nearby farmhouse and personally welcome visitors. The cottage is surrounded by spectacular Teesdale Countryside and makes a magnificent base for exploring this unspoilt part of the Dales. The pretty village of Mickleton is only 10 minutes walk away. Note: Westfield Cottage adjoins ref. 1132 Garden Cottage and the properties can be booked together to accommodate a group of up to 9.
Three bedrooms: 1 x double with handbasin, 1 x twin, 1 x twin (2ft 6’ beds, limited hanging space and low ceiling - suitable for children). House bathroom with shower over bath, washbasin and WC. Modern well equipped dining kitchen. Spacious sitting room with electric fire.
Full oil central heating and additional heating from electric fire in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, table top freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, colour TV with Freeview, CD player/radio. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Ample off road parking. Highchair on request. Pretty shared sitting area with garden furniture. One well behaved pet welcome. Storage for bicycles. Private brown trout fly fishing on farm, 100 yards from cottage. Shops 1 mile, pubs 10 mins walk.
