  • "Absolutely beautiful place."

The views are incredible and the house is comfortable, stylish and well equipped. Super comfortable beds, great showers, adjustable heating, easy short walk into Hawkshead. We loved it.

  • "Please place a standing mirror in the downstairs bathroom as the wall mirror is too high for us short visitors!"

Thank you for the feedback, we are definitely planning to put in a mirror downstairs shortly. We hope you enjoyed your time at Estcote and we hope to welcome you again when you visit Cumbria next. Property Owner

  • "We loved the property and the location and what weather !"

The house with its thick stone walls remained cool despite the high temperatures. A great house so clean and modern which was much appreciated. We would love to return on our next visit to the Lakes. In the spirit of us loving the property and certainly not complaining could we suggest the following which we feel will add to the comfort/ enjoyment of future guests:- Clothes airer or discreet washing line Larger kitchen bin A small creative (in the space) hanging rail in the en-suite bedroom Board for fruit prep ( the wooden ones are liable to staining) Some more small sharp knives, there was only one A cafetiere for fresh coffee ( we had to order one on Amazon Prime :) ) An external cover for the en-suite extractor as we had lots of flies ( in this room with all windows shut )in the first 24 hours and believe that they came through this open pipe which ought to have said cover on to prevent birds etc from using it as a home ! Thanks so much for letting us stay at your lovely property. Until the next time …

Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. The Property Owner will receive your feedback in order for them to act upon any areas you have highlighted. We are glad that you had the wonderful weather and could enjoy all the property and area have to offer. Heart of the Lakes Owner Relations Property Owner

  • "Fabulous location and beautiful accommodation."

It was spacious and decorated to a high specification. The only thing missing was a mirror in the downstairs bedroom other than that it was perfect.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for your suggestion on the downstairs bedroom mirror, this is something that might be considered in the future. WE hope to welcome you back soon. The owner relations team - Heart Of The Lakes Property Owner

  • "A really lovely holiday home with superb views over Esthwaite."

Short walk into Hawkshead with all its amenities. We walked up Latterbarrow from the door. A very comfortable house. There were just a few small things that detracted from the stay. There was no soap provided for hand washing and no washing-up liquid; both of these have always been provided in previous rentals. Also, we’ve never been to a holiday cottage without a bottle opener or corkscrew! A microwave was provided but there was no plastic/glass suitable for use in it. We would definitely recommend if these small niggles could be addressed.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We take all comments on board. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Great house, but not offering guests tea/coffee , soap and toilet paper is a bit sad for a property of this level."

The heating didnt work properly either and one day we didnt have hot water either. The house was so cold when we arrived that we simply couldnt sleep the first night because i how cold it was. You need to prepare the property for the guests, otherwise there are health and safety issues where the temperature is not high enough to be residential . Great house but i am dissatisfied with your hospitality.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding, and we are glad that you liked the house itself. We have taken your comments onboard and addressed them. Regarding toilet paper and soap issues, we have addressed them with housekeeping and we are very sorry that this inconvenienced you. The heating had only been activated the day you reached, as yours was a last minute booking. We hope that you will return to enjoy the property. Property Owner

Loved sitting out and taking in the view to Esthwaite. Super comfortable beds and a small waterfall at the back of the house (which is pretty spectacular on a rainy day) Would definitely stay there again! You should update the key location instructions, took us a while to find it

It has a beautiful view of Esthwaite water and is in its own little piece of heaven. The facilities are all modern and very comfortable we didn’t have any issues. We have been to the lakes often and usually move somewhere new each time. We would definitely book Estcote again.

  • "Spacious house in a nice area."

Beds are extremely good and comfortable. When the lightning and atmosphere inside the house were improved (nicer lamps, chairs, some colourful paintings on the walls f.e.), we would rate the property even higher.

Dear Mr Boseman Thank you for your valuable feedback. The bedrooms have elegant matching lampshades from Pooky and the wall art (eg decorative mirrors) are in keeping with the overall decor. You may have also noticed the comfortable armchairs and deep sofas in the living room and snug. About the location

HAWKSHEAD

Ambleside 5.1 miles; Kendal 17.4 miles.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
