  • "Beech Grove was a lovely, comfortable, spotless lodge."

Plenty room for 4 adults. Good size bedrooms with plenty storage. Not too far from the park entrance and a short walk to shops & resteraunts. We would definitely stay here again.

  • "This is one of the best lodges we have stayed in on Fallbarrow."

I really felt at home and we had a lovely time. 2 downsides were 1, the lodge was ice cold when we arrived, and 2 the single beds were so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep in them. Thankfully there was a spare sheet and a sofa bed, without this we wouldn’t have been able to sleep at all. We would stay in this lodge again but only if the mattresses were replaced

  • "We had the most wonderful break at Beech Grove lodge."

The property was spotless upon arrival and we had all the amenities needed in order to make it a stress-free family Christmas. The location couldn’t be any better; we thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas Day walk to the lake (which is within strolling distance) and then a visit to the Peter Rabbit exhibition on Boxing Day. Our 2 year old had the best time and loved every minute. We would highly recommend stopping here and we hope to book again soon!

It was a holiday for a Ukrainian family I am hosting and I wanted them to experience the tranquility of the lakes after the trauma they experienced in Ukraine. It was perfect. Slight problem obtaining WiFi password but quickly and efficiently resolved by help desk. We loved it, especially Zlata who loved feeding the ducks but not so much the geese.

My only gripe is the WiFi is absolutely useless , I don't know if there is an option to pay for a better faster service, if there is it would be helpful to publish instructions on the website for the lodge

  • "Lovely stay at Beech Grove Lodge, nice quiet location on the park and brilliantly located for Bowness which is a very short walk away."

We had everything we needed and enjoyed our time there especially sitting out on the deck, the rattan sofa was very comfortable. Lodge well equipped and clean. Would definitely recommend. A couple of minor things that need addressing (although they didn't affect our stay), the DVD player is not connected so we couldn't use it (I think it is a new TV so not set up anymore), the shelves in the fridge door are slightly broken and so we were dubious to use them to hold milk in case they broke completely, the code for the barrier is wrong in the welcome email so we couldn't get on the park straight away when we arrived. However, these are minor and we had a lovely stay and will almost certainly come back again.

Thank you for your great feedback. We will take a look at the DVD player, which hopefully can be connected up. We have decided to replace the fridge in the next few weeks as we were aware of issues with the milk tray and frosting up of the freezer. Property Owner

This is the 8th property we have stayed on. We stayed in glade 16 last year. Overall the property had the potential to be lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable and the washing facilities good. Just a couple of things that wouldn’t let me book this property again. The milk tray in the fridge fell off as soon as I opened the fridge door. There was a dirty sanitary towel in the bin of the bathroom in the en suite and finally the two dogs in glade 8 barked continuously from morning til night. They woke both my children up every morning. Other than that the stay was pleasant but as I said I wouldn’t stay again in this property.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that you found the beds comfortable. We will ask our Maintenance Team to look into the issue that you experienced with the milk tray. We are sorry to hear of the issue that you experienced with the cleanliness of the property, and we will ask our Housekeeping Team to ensure that our high standards continue to be met. Had we been made aware of these issues during your stay, we would have attended to resolve. We hope that you will return to the Lake District again. Towels provided was a bonus. All kitchen utensils are plentiful. Comfy sofa and beds. 2 bathrooms is very handy too. We arrived at 3.30pm and it was ready as per instructions. The use of the leisure facility (swimming pool and gym) is really nice addition - offsite but only 5 mins in the car. The only thing that could have been improved for our stay was the the freezer desperately needs defrosting. We could barely open the door is was so stuck with ice. Eventually this will impact the temperate of the fridge too. The decking glass was quite green and could do with a bit if clean now the weathers nice. Also the barrier code is not correct as per email we were sent had to buzz to get in. Didn’t effect our stay and would definitely return. Lovely lodge.

Just a couple of little issues, why put a bird feeder right next to the seating area, as the seats where always full of bird poo and debris, I love wildlife too but not over your head. Fridge freezer, the freezer door won't close properly so over freezing and couldn't open the drawers. Apart from this it was lovely

There is no wi fi called fallbarrow to log into had no wi fi either . There is black mold around shower base in main bedroom. The pots and pan are old and done in property wouldn't use them . The main problem is the bed is it done and need replaced mattress topper been used on top of it my partner struggled to get a good sleep because of a hole/ hallow at her side off the bed

Thank you for your comments. We have since corrected the barrier code information, and the WIFI information has also been updated. Further to your comments regarding the shower, the silicone was replaced yesterday and the owner is sorting the pots and pans. We do find that beds, and mattresses are down to personal preference. Nearly everything was as described, with just a couple things different as i have mentioned below. Cleanliness was optimum, very happy about that. We were 3 people staying and apace was ample. Overall location of the property also ideal as this was our first windermere holiday and we loved how well linked the location was to all places we wanted to visit. Just about bbq, listing advised that bbq slab would be provided and we should get portable bbqs, which we did. However, instead of a slab, a fully functional gas grill was provided on the patio, which was a pleasant surprise and a great help ofc. But had we known this earlier, we'd have arranged supplies accordingly. Also, bulbs on the patio need fixing as mentioned in some previous reviews too, esp ones near the grill as had to use our torch to do BBQ. But these are small things for an overall very well maintained property, would definitely recommend

  • "We have stayed at this park on several occasions and Beech Grove lodge met our expectations during a busy half term family break in the Lakes."

The lodge is well situated on the park, quite close to the main reception area which was ideal for the kids who don’t always want to walk miles! Considering it’s position in the middle of Glade area, it doesn’t feel overlooked with good surrounding trees and bushes. Decking area was lovely, surrounded by a glass surround which created a nice private sitting area. Shame the weather didn’t allow for the bbq which was also present during our stay. Parking was great, enough for 2 cars. The lodge inside was cosy, didn’t feel outdated vs newer style lodges we have stayed in and was very clean, great showers and facilities. Bed was very comfortable in main room, the second bedroom with single beds was a good size for kids. Heating was almost not needed as lodge was well warm and had hive installed. Nice electric fire as well. We read about sofa not being comfortable and we did have the issue with the main sofa (also a sofa bed) cushions sliding off, but the kids actually seem to find this funny. We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi working with TV for streaming so had to do with good old normal TV for the stay once the kids slept. Not a big issue. The park is a great location for Bowness and we walked in each day which took 5 mins, great if you fancy a takeaway on the evenings. The main bar / restaurant on site was busier as half term than normal but seemed heavily understaffed which resulted in some decent waits at bar for drinks & food. Same prices as restaurants in town so no real benefit we felt to stay on park. We would definitely return to the park and lodge.

The lodge is in a great location on the park. Convenient for the main facilities but nice and quiet there as well. The park was very close to Bowness which made strolling in to town very easy and the waterfront area and view was stunning. The lodge was of a good standard, clean and well equipped, and we particularly enjoyed the outside seating area which was both very comfortable and private. As others have said, the main sofa was a bit of a challenge to sit on due to the sliding cushions but nothing a couple of non slip pads couldn’t remedy. Very much recommended.

The park is in an amazing location, just a short stroll to everything Bowness on Windermere has to offer. The cabin was lovely, very comfortable and modern. It was exceptionally clean too. Both bathrooms were lovely and modern. We had trouble adjusting the temperature of the en-suite shower which was permanently too hot so we started to use the shower over bath instead. It wasn’t a big deal for us. The beds were very comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. The kitchen was very well kitted out with everything we needed during our stay. A few cushions on the sofa would have been appreciated though! All in all great break away - we would definitely return in the future.

The interior was extremely clean and inviting, all rooms a very good size, kitchen well equipped. I marked ‘cleanliness’ down a mark purely on the exterior porch area which had not been cleaned therefore, we did this ourselves. 15 minutes closer attention would’ve prevented this comment. We were blessed with amazing weather and was very hot, so much so, we struggled to sleep, the provision of a couple cheap fans would have prevented some discomfort and this is why I marked ‘comfort’ down a mark. The beds were however, very comfy, the bathrooms and showers excellent. The location felt secure and safe, the driveway was off road, ideal for hiding away our mountain bikes. It’s easy to focus on the negatives, they were minor in comparison to everything else which was perfect. I’d definitely recommend and be back. 9/10
