  • "Temperamental front door lock, not always easy to open."

No blind on little window in main bedroom. No signal on downstairs tv. Could only get itvx in main bedroom. Notified contact number hour after arrival on Friday. Had further phone call on Saturday pm to say they would chase but no one came. This was a particular issue for us as we have a young adult with a learning disability who likes to watch tv and our long weekend was supposed to be a chilled relaxing one.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that you had some issues with the front door lock, the blind on the little window in the main bedroom, and the signal on the downstairs TV. We have investigated the issues you have mentioned and would like to apologise for any inconvenience they may have caused. The front door lock is a solid door and can be difficult to open if it is not pulled forward. We have checked the lock and it is working properly. The blind on the little window in the main bedroom was damaged by a previous guest and is being replaced as soon as possible. The signal on the downstairs TV. Due to the fact that the terrestrial aerial has been damaged and removed from the main complex you would not be able to received the terrestrial channels, however, the main bedroom TV is a smart TV and you can log into your accounts to receive your programmes. The downstairs TV is a cast TV and you can watch your programmes using your smart phone, iPad, or laptop computer. We understand that these issues were a particular problem for you as you have a young adult with a learning disability who likes to watch TV. We apologise for the inconvenience and we hope that you were able to enjoy your long weekend despite the issues. We have taken your feedback on board and we will be taking steps to improve the following: • The front door lock will be lubricated to make it easier to open. • The blind on the little window in the main bedroom will be replaced as soon as possible. • We will investigate the possibility of installing a new aerial so that the downstairs TV can receive a signal. We would like to thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We value your feedback and we are committed to providing our guests with a positive experience. Property Owner

Dining table and chairs are a bit difficult to move, a bit of a hazard for under 2's and shower gels would have been good.

  • "We originally booked Rivers Edge as a birthday gift for my father who celebrated his 60th birthday in 2022."

However, due to a sudden illness, we had to postpone until May 2023, which was easy to arrange and brought us peace of mind. On our arrival, the location of the property was easy to find. We really enjoyed staying in the area, it was quiet and peaceful, especially with the river running close by. The amenities at the accommodation were perfect for our needs as a family of 5. There was plenty of room and was spacious enough for everyone to be all together or apart whilst in the property. Our only criticisms (and they are minor) would be that we didn't have enough toilet roll towards the end of our stay. Fortunately we always carry spares just in case. accessing the property through the front door is quite difficult - you have to push it quite hard for the door to open. But overall, we really enjoyed our staycation at Rivers Edge and we would recommend the property to family, friends and/or anyone looking to stay in the Lake District.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased to hear you all had a wonderful time. All guests are provided with toilet rolls to start their stay, we do suggest guests bring their own to a self-catering property. It is fantastic to hear you would recommend Rivers Edge to others, thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Owner Relations - Lakes Cottage Holidays Property Owner

  • "Absolutely wonderful stay, if you’re contemplating making a booking you will not be disappointed."

Everything is as you see it in the photos, beautifully modern and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable stay all round. Kitchen has everything you need. Local menus from restaurants, pubs and nearby take aways where provided which were useful. I loved that lots of blankets and throws were available particularly for the kids as they enjoyed wrapping up and getting cosy on the sofa after a long day. The tv was a little temperamental in terms of the remote wouldn’t always work but this could of been due to simply a low battery so easily fixed. But also the Chromecast seemed hot and miss too. Only a small thing though as after all we were out all day and are way so don’t want kids staring at the screen anyway. Overall fantastic place which we’ll definitely be recommending to our family and friends.

  • "A very well located apartment with excellent access to the Lake District."

It is very well equipped and provides a great base for exploring both locally and beyond. We were a party of five adults and found the seating arrangements for both eating and watching the TV tight; it would be best suited in our opinion for groups of four or less. We enjoyed our week in the Lakes, with so many interesting places to visit with such a dramatic landscape. We would highly recommend National Trust membership as car parking across the Lakes is expensive and many are owned by the Trust.

Many thank for you positive comments, we will take into consideration you feedback and constructive comments Property Owner

The kitchen was well equipped and sofas were comfy. Ideal accommodation and was perfect location to explore. The property owners were quick to change timing of hot water on our request as we are ealy risers. On leaving the property my nephew who was on his way back to Germany forgot his ipad and the property owners were more than helpful to give access to the property to retrieve after departure. • "Stayed the week at rivers edge near Newby bridge Lake District and what a fantastic holiday experience it was."

The apartment was over two floors with kitchen and living room on the ground floor and a handy toilet and sink also in the hall as you come in through the front door. The living room was fantastically equipped with top brand equipment throughout with lg targe screen tv and Bosch kitchen appliances which for me was a great help as I have the same type at home . I noted that there was a washing machine and dish washer but I didn’t use these as I was on my own and found it easy to wash and dry as I went in the superb double sink with pull out tap that was a great feature to help clean the odd plate and cups ect. The corner settee was wonderfully comfortable and well made with loads of scatter cushions and warm throws to snuggle under for that cosy feeling while watching a movie on the tv. Here again the owners have thought about their customers by fitting the tv with a chromecast device so casting Netflix and Amazon ect was as easy as tapping the cast tab on my mobile phone. Such a great feature to have so no need for cables and connectors to try linking your phone to the tv as we have all tried before. Upstairs the great experience continues with lovely clean (looked brand new) carpeting to the stairs landings and bedrooms with bathrooms and en-suite all tiled on walls and floors. Bathrooms were well equipped with cabinets for toothpaste/shower gels ect and also shaver sockets hidden away inside to keep that uncluttered look near the sinks. Fantastic waterfall showers were a lovely way to get ready for the day ahead and we’re a very nice touch to add to the lovely bathrooms. Bedrooms were plush and relaxing with bedside lights and dressing tables all adding to the sumptuous feel of the rooms . Nice tv on main bedroom wall opposite the bed a great touch for that lazy morning watching the news ect. The bed was super comfortable and sheets and pillows were spotlessly clean and soft and extra pillows available with pillowcases fitted in the wardrobe. Loads of hanging space with hangers available. in the downstairs toilet a hoover and ironing board and also a mop and bucket. Hoover especially good to catch those bread crumbs when making toast or sandwiches on the kitchen worktop and easy to use on the nice wooden floors with rugs at settee and worktop area. Outside the river passes by the bedrooms on the back of the apartment and the main window in living room with nice landscaped views from master and twin bedrooms from balcony in each room. Lastly two car parking spaces allotted for you to park so no worries with larger groups using two cars or if you worried about your new car being marked by a neighbouring car door as you could park with loads of room either side. In short a fantastic holiday in a fantastic holiday apartment where the utmost care has been lavished on the property to give the holidaymaker a holiday to remember. Thank you so very much for all your hard work you have done to this stunning apartment. Can’t wait to come back to rivers edge again . Mr A Smith.

It’s in a fantastic location - the view of the river is spectacular! It’s an easy car drive to Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside so ideal for us to take our baby granddaughter without a long journey in the car. We celebrated my daughters 30th birthday and the owner left a complimentary smash cake, wine and beer which I thought was so thoughtful! I would highly recommend this property and we will definitely be going back!
