  • "Warm, comfortable and character-ful cottage in a charming village that has a useful village store, pharmacy and a good pub serving very nice (and fairly priced) meals."

Roadside parking (on a quiet village lane) was never a problem. Good location from which to explore nearby market towns, walks and attractions.

  • "We had a lovely week at Sally's Cottage."

The location was ideal with a local pub and shop and a short journey into Skipton. Loads to do within a few miles and the stay was made perfect with a full week of sunny weather. Mrs Greenwood was our host and a font of knowledge on the local area. The cottage was lovely and we hope to return in the future

  • "We were met by Mrs Greenwood on arrival and that set the theme for our holiday."

The cottage was superb- everything modern with a vintage style appropriate to the period it was built . We were very comfortable and prospered with reasonable weather- arrived at Fountains Abbey having having driven through drizzly weather to a glorious blue sky (this made our visit special). Be prepared if you eat out to the bumper servings.

  • "My only problem was that the house was full of precious antiques."

I was terrified to break anything. The mugs were expensive porcelain. I bought a cheap one for use during the stay. A wonderful feature of this house was a patio on the upper level, with table and chairs and wonderful garden.

  • "The house was spacious with lots of character, and upstairs sun room that led into the garden was the perfect place sit, drink tea, and enjoy the peace after a day out."

Rosemary really kind and helpful. We would say though that walks from the door (as advertised) were rather limited. Yes you can walk around the village but there are no really accessible walks from the door that don't involve a lot of busy road walking. However if you are prepared to drive a few miles further afield then there are plenty of walks which we enjoyed.

From the cottage it is possible to walk into Skipton and leave the car, the Town Centre being approximately one and a half miles away.

Very comfortable, homely, and well equipped with everything. It’s a bit like a tardis- Much bigger than I expected - plenty of room inside and a beautiful garden at the front and the back. Parking was always available on the road directly in front of the cottage. The owner lives next door and we received a warm welcome and tour of the cottage from her, she is a mine of information with regard to places to visit and how to get there.

  • "Cosy and comfortable."

All facilities worked OK except not all freeview channels available. Very small washing machine, no drier.Local transport and taxis easy to use; we had no car. Renting a cottage was a new experience for us. Though cheaper than a hotel there are pluses and minuses. Come and go as you please but cooked breakfasts in a hotel! I made the mistake of assuming there would be wifi. It is evrywhere nowadays so I feel it should be pointed out to renters when it is not available rather than the other way round.

  • "The owner of the property we were staying in lived next door, and was an extremely helpful lady."

She offered advise on what to do in the area, brought around newspaper articles, and the village newsletter so we could see what was going on in the area. We couldn't get the gas fire to light and she quickly got someone in to take a look at it, and fix it. Despite reaching her 80th birthday the day after we left she couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, and it made our stay in the Yorkshire Dales even more enjoyable.

A friendly village with shop & newsagent who was helpful, pharmacy and post office (open four days a week) a pub and a pub hub - village gathering place in the mornings where WiFi was available. Buses in the morning and early afternoon to Skipton. Plenty of places to visit in easy reach. Parking on the road in front of the house, but we had no difficulty over this. A good week although the weather was pretty poor after Monday.
