  • "Only complaint is the parking arrangements very, very tight to park in front of garages when other cars are parked there."

Thanks for your feedback and for the positive scoring. There is an excellent local car park two minutes walk away and roadside parking available. Details are provided of the local car park with the arrival instructions. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable property."

Overall the cleanliness on arrival was of a good standard, although the cooker and toaster could have been cleaner. Parking is tight, but this is explained before arrival, and we had no problem. We appreciated the advance email from the owner containing useful information about the area.

  • "The property was lovely, spacious and had everything you would need for a break away."

The owner had kindly left us cheese from the local area and some eggs from their farm. The cottage was clean and tidy for the most part. However, inside the kitchen cupboards, the kitchen utensils and equipment were not the cleanest and needed cleaning before use. The parking situation wasn’t great. The allocated parking space is very small and difficult to get in and out of (in a median sized car) and no on street parking outside. It was also located around the back of an adjacent property, making loading and unloading the car more difficult.

Samantha - thank you for the feedback. I am glad you found it spacious and had everything you needed. We have taken on board all your feedback. The cottage is in an ancient village with narrow cobbled streets, as you say on street parking is limited. However, as well as parking for one medium sized car at the property, there is an excellent village car park very nearby. We include the details of the car park in our welcome pack. Thanks again for the feedback. Property Owner

Andy, Hil and Archie - thanks for the feedback. We will make sure the wifi password is in the Welcome pack in the cottage, as well as in the instructions that we send. I am glad you had a good week. Property Owner

  • "We loved everything about the cottage apart from the parking!"

Not a lot to be done about that unfortunately. The cottage itself and its location were perfect. Everything which could be needed was provided and it would be an ideal property for a family.

Thanks for your feedback and I so glad you enjoyed yourself. Sorry you found the parking so difficult. We were unaware that builders are working on a nearby property and their van being parked during the day is making it very difficult to get in and out of our parking space at the moment. Hopefully, all works will be completed very soon. For future visits, there is also an excellent village car park just a minute's walk from the property. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very spacious and comfortable."

The only reason we would not recommend it is the parking arrangements. It was an extremely tight space necessitating weaving between several other parked cars.

We are sorry you found parking difficult. During your stay the neighbours had builders working on their property. Building works are now complete and a new parking arrangement has been agreed with the neighbours which makes it easier to get in and out of our allocated parking space. There is also an excellent village car park just a minute away from the property. We do look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

    G. no non-stick frying pan, upstairs floorboards creak when someone is moving around in middle of night, so could disturb others, and adjacent car parking virually impossible. Better info needed about getting overnight permits to park on village car park. (my daughter was penalised because her on-line payment failed to be registered, though I believe this was recified). Fridge could do with being larger and better positioned. Otherwise, very satisfied indeed with cottage and surrounding beautiful area.

Thanks for the feedback about the cottage. A new larger fridge has been installed. Full details of parking arrangements including overnight parking permits for the village are included in the Cottage information pack. Property Owner

The property

This delightful stone-built cottage is one in a row of three cottages, situated right in the heart of the village of Chipping, with a beautiful, private rear garden and patio.

Access to the property, is either along the path running at the front of all three properties, or via the little metal gate off the main road, up the snicket and in through the wooden garden gate.

Ideally situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this property is ideal for couples or families looking to explore this scenic area.

The cottage is well-equipped and has a modern kitchen complete with a breakfast table for two.

There is a separate dining room where everyone can gather together over a family meal and chat over the day’s events, and the sofa bed in this room adds extra flexibility for an additional occasional guest.

Enjoy the open fire and its cosy atmosphere in the comfortable sitting room or step outside to enjoy a refreshing drink on the sunny patio.

Upstairs there are three pleasant bedrooms and a modern family bathroom.

Situated in the historic village of Chipping in the scenic Ribble Valley, you are only a few steps from the village pubs.

Whilst you are in the Sun Inn discover the story of colourful Lizzie Dean at this haunted pub and enjoy the hospitality at the Tillotsons, and if you do happen to count, there are definitely more steps on the way home!

Chipping is ideally placed as it has easy access to the dramatic beauty of the Lake District, the historic town of Lancaster, the bright lights of Blackpool and the seaside charm at Lytham and Morecambe.

Being on the edge of the ancient Forest of Bowland, Chipping boasts many beautiful local walks.

A trip up Parlick Hill and maybe watching the hand gliders catching the thermals is fun; galloping home down the hill, at speed, is even better!

The valley of the Trough of Bowland is close by, a stunning Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, with dramatic scenery and an amazing spot for a walk, a cycle or a picnic.

A visit to the Inn at Whitewell is always a treat, and you might be able to do some celebrity spotting whilst you are there.

For the cycling enthusiast there is an opportunity to don your lycra (or not) and discover some hidden gems with a variety of circuitous routes, taking in moors, hills, coasts and cafés on the way.

Just outside Chipping, The Wild Boar Park (please check their website in advance) is a popular spot for children as it offers a play area, hand feeding the animals, tractor rides, as well as wild boars, so hand feed the lambs in spring and enjoy making dens in the bales of hay!

A little further afield is the market town of Clitheroe where a trip to the castle and museum on the hill is an interesting day out.

An ideally located property with plenty of things to do for everyone.
