These two wonderful cottages are situated within walking distance from the shore of Esthwaite Water, in a peaceful location, next to the owners’ home, in the tiny hamlet of Near Sawrey, in the Lake District National Park. These two holiday homes consist of a first floor apartment sleeping four and a cosy ground floor cottage sleeping two, meaning six people can be accommodated, making them a perfect base for families or friends wishing to spend time together in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District – a real gem in an already beautiful crown! These quality holiday homes have been lovingly designed to make the most of the delightful surroundings and each are furnished and decorated to an exceptional standard. Enjoying a slightly elevated position, both cottages have views down the fields to Esthwaite Water and guests can wonder down to the water’s edge, which is just a couple of minutes walk away, from where you can observe the local wildlife or possibly enjoy fishing for pike and trout. Both cottages offer private patio areas, as well as access to a shared garden where you can relax with a good book, whilst taking in the views of the lake. Why not take some time and amble into Near Sawrey to explore Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter, and see the actual garden where Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny nibbled on Mr McGregor’s lettuces? There is also an excellent pub serving delicious food, plus of course, less than 2 miles away is the most charming Lakeland village of Hawkshead, with its cobbled yards and traditional houses. For a more action packed day, the Grizedale Forest offers beautiful walks and cycle ways and has a tree top adventure course too, or why not take the ferry across Lake Windermere and explore the popular town of Bowness on Windermere with its colourful mix of shops and restaurants? Although once you arrive at these excellent cottages you may just be inclined to sit back and relax!

About the location
Hawkshead 2 miles.
The village of Sawrey is situated two miles from Hawkshead down the eastern side of Esthwaite Water, overlooked by the woods and tarns of Claife Heights. Sawrey consists of two separate hamlets - Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey - both with a cluster of picturesque cottages, tea rooms and pubs. Near Sawrey is famous for Hill Top, the 17th century farmhouse where Beatrix Potter wrote her acclaimed children's stories. Now a museum, owned and run by the National Trust, Hill Top is one of the most visited houses in the Lake District. Far Sawrey is the hamlet furthest away from Hawkshead and the nearest to the ferry point on Windermere. It offers a church and pub/restaurant with a beer garden. There are good walks in the area, including those to Claife Heights and in Grizedale Forest. It's also a great base for enjoying a wide variety of typical Lakeland pursuits - with watersports close at hand on Lake Windermere, fishing on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
