    • “I can't recommend this little place enough. It's in a great spot in the middle of the town. A couple of good pubs close by, and a sainsburys within 2 mins walk. The owners very kindly left a bottle of wine and some chocolate which was a very nice touch. The apartment was immaculate and had everything needed for a short or long stay. We hope to return. ( ps there is a observatory close by that we didn't know about so it would be worthwhile booking that in advance as we couldn't get tickets when we turned up).”

    • “Stayed here for a week in June. The apartment is centrally located in Haltwhistle with eating establishments, pubs and shops nearby. The flat is beautifully furnished and really comfortable with every possible amenity you could require. Really loved the sofa with the electrically operated footrest, great for relaxing after a long day out. The information provided by the owners on the locality is excellent. They have even returned, at no cost to ourselves, something that my wife left behind. Highly recommended for comfort and location”

    • “This is a lovely place for a couple to stay. It makes a great base for a touring holiday in Northumberland. In walking distant of Hadrian's Wall. The inside is done to a very high standard and is comfortable. There's plenty of shops, cafes and pubs in the village. The only downside is that it's on a main road but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of our holiday in any way.”

About the location

Hexham 17 miles.

Known as the 'Centre of Britain' this small market town is a great place from which to explore both Northumberland and Cumbria. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs - one of which, The Black Bull, is a real ale pub serving good food! There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles to be seen. There is even an ongoing 'dig' at the nearby site of Vindolanda. This truly is magnificent walking, riding and cycling country, with the Pennine Way and various bridleways and cycle routes passing rivers, forests, castles and of course, Hadrian's Wall. Visitors will enjoy this location in all weather and all seasons – a regular train and bus service from the town to Newcastle, The Metro Centre and Carlisle, means that you can leave the car behind and enjoy!
