    Helm Eden is in a perfect location. We particularly like the open fire, which was wonderful when it was cold and raining! Well equipped and homely. Lovely.

Helm Farm

Bowness-on-Windermere 0.5 miles. Situated on the outskirts of Bowness-on-Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District, these four Bowness self-catering apartments are located on a family-run farm estate in tranquil and relaxing surrounds. These delightful Bowness holiday apartments have been carefully created from old farm buildings – some parts of the adjoining building dating back to 1691 – and each has been comfortably furnished and decorated, retaining character and charm. Positioned in spacious grounds, each of these Bowness self-catering apartments has outdoor seating and enjoys shared use of all the lawned and terraced areas surrounding them, as well as the opportunity for walks on the farmland or into Bowness-on-Windermere. With a variety of accommodation across these four Bowness holiday apartments, up to 15 guests can be accommodated. These Bowness self-catering apartments are in a superb holiday location, where you can watch the wildlife including deer, red squirrels and a host of birds, or stroll through the adjacent fields on one of the many footpaths. Guests at these holiday apartments may choose to stroll down to Bowness-on-Windermere to take a pleasure cruiser up the lake to Ambleside or south to Lakeside. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake, taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead to explore the home of Beatrix Potter at NT Hilltop. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
