  • "A great location for exploring the area."

We were very comfortable and liked the cottage very much except for one thing: the basin in the bathroom was tiny and impossible to use without water dripping down the side of the cabinet and onto the floor. I realise there are space constraints but it really is too small. Other than that one small thing our stay in the cottage was great. We only used the bedroom on the first floor but noted the stairs to the second floor are very steep.

Yes we realised the space in the upstairs toilet was limited when we bought the property that is why we had a second toilet with a larger sink built in the basement to try and improve the facilities. Property Owner

  • "Stayed in Ingleton a couple of times but this was our first time at Bridge End Cottage."

The location couldn't be better and the cottage was great for the two of us and our two doggies - so relaxing. The private parking, small garden and beautifully decked and furnished balcony were even better than expected. Communication and service from the host were lovely. I was very grateful that he called me the day before arrival to confirm the code for the key box (I had missed that I should have called him), provide information about the heating and confirm we would have a synthetic duvet in our bedroom as requested - Thank you! We always take plenty of our own towels, blankets and beds for the dogs when we stay in cottages but this is the first time the host has provided them too. We didn't use the additional blankets or dog beds in the cottage but reassuring to know there were spares in the basement if needed. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Cleaning equipment and laundry facilities can be found in the basement room. There is also a great selection of books throughout the property from fiction to autobiographies and very useful local walking guides - there's something for everyone! We reported a couple of maintenance issues during our stay / upon departure - none of which impacted our stay and Sykes were very helpful. We won't hesitate to book Bridge End for our next Ingleton trip.

  • "Bridge end cottage is a real find."

Situated in lovely little Ingleton sitting right besides the River Doe it is a real haven. We were blessed with the most amazing weather for the whole week which obviously added to our enjoyment, but the cottage is fab. From the moment you drive through the gates and park up, everything has been thought of. There was just the two of us and our working cocker spaniel Hal so we had plenty of room. Our favourite spot was sitting out on the deck enjoying the sights and sounds of the river, fantastic. A lot of thought has gone into this place, lovely tubs and baskets of flowers - which we watered and deadheaded! Bird feeders dotted around, and a regular clientele for the morsels we put out. A small but so well equipped kitchen, the most comfortable of beds and bed linen. I could go on. Nowhere seemed very far from Ingleton so we did a lot of visiting to other local towns/ villages and was always a pleasure to ‘come home’. In the guest book people had complained about the stairs and the hills in the village, my reply would be ‘go to Norfolk and find a bungalow’! This was our first time in the Dales and absolutely didnt want to return to city life. I’m sure we will return. Keep up the good work, you’re great hosts.

  • "This property was a joy to behold."

On arrival it is true that at 6'4" I made an impression on the low beam entering the kitchen from the back door for the first time, but once done, lesson learnt. The house has everything for all the families needs, well appointed and the location in the village is perfect. The village itself is lovely and for hill walking and sightseeing etc it was ideal. I would totally recommend and consider returning in the future. The fact it's on 3 levels, 4 if you include the lovely cellar it is not for the haters of stairs.

Would recommend this cottage if you want a peaceful break with fabulous walks from the door. The only thing I had an issue with was all the quilts apart from the single one were feather, as I am allergic we had to share a single quilt. Cosy. Thanks for the lovely stay

Hi glad to hear you had a good stay sorry to hear about your allergy if you had mentioned it we have alternative quilts on site so this is could have been catered for. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, surprisingly spacious, and has plenty of room for a family of four (with teen kids) and a dog."

The beds were super comfy and the modern kitchen /bathroom all add to a great experience.. Enjoyed sitting in the sun-trap balcony watching the river. We loved being close to the village - coop and coffee shop in 2 mins, the Falls Cafe 2 mins and also Marton Arms within 10 minutes. Would highly recommend and would go again.

Glad to hear you had a lovely time in my cottage. We personally clean the cottage and do not employ cleaners, so I am surprised you did not give a 100% score after such a complimentary review. I would appreciate if you could please clarify your scoring, so we can improve our service in future. Thank you, regards, David. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay."

Thank you for everything. I’ve stayed in lots of cottages and yours is one of the loveliest, It has everything we could need. But you’ve still kept the old world charm of the building. The window shutters, wooden beams, and log Stove and seating area outside with the view of the river is wonderful. Great selection of books and games. Garden was great for my dogs. The location couldn’t be better next to the river but a short walk up the hill and you’re on the high street of Ingleton. We did the waterfalls walk and enjoyed a meal in the wheatsheaf pub. Would definitely recommend staying here.

  • "Cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, and was as described."

However, with only one bathroom, 6 people would really struggle. The lounge would be too cramped. We were a party of 3 adults, which I reckon would be the maximum. Plus points - great location, SmartTV with Netflix, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Superb selection of books available. Also lots of board games in the basement. Private parking for 2 cars. Great outdoor area if the weather is good. Good selection of pubs nearby. Areas to consider improvement - would "declutter" by getting rid of the throws, some cushions etc. A second security light by the gate would be a good idea as it is very dark there. The positioning of the TV is not ideal, especially if more than one person on the sofa. Generally though, the cottage was good value when compared to others, and would recommend.

Thanks for the feedback in oct. Just for the record i do appreciate positive recommendations ,so this winter i have had a second w.c fitted in the basement and a additional security light by the gates .As the cottage is dog friendly we prefer to keep the settees covered with throws as we know though not encouraged the guests have let there dogs climb onto them. Thanks David Property Owner

It was well equipped- never been in a cottage with so many dishes and pots and pans. The balcony overlooking the river was a real bonus as was the off-road parking. The only downside were the very steep stairs which my old knees didn’t like and the climb up to the village.Would recommend this cottage to families and couples.

  • "We loved this cottage."

The location is superb right next to the river in the centre of ingleton. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We really liked the way they’d taken a traditional cottage and decorated it in a contemporary way but retained all it’s character. The shower room and kitchen were both very high quality and the bed was very comfy and felt luxurious. It was lovely sitting on the deck overlooking the river and listening to all the birds. And off street parking was much appreciated. We’d love to stay here again.
