Location: Braithwaite

Keswick 3 miles.

Between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, lies the village of Braithwaite. Still retaining much of its traditional appeal, the Coledale Beck runs through the village with whitewashed Lakeland cottages, two village shops and two real ale Inns each brimming with character! Between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw, there really is something for everyone. Visit Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake with an open-air theatre, or take a trip around the lake. Trotters Farm, Dodd Wood, Derwentwater, and Keswick with its wide range of attractions, are also within easy reach.

Previous visitors' comments about Stoneyacre:

Stoneyacre turned out to be an excellent base for a holiday in the Lake District. Beautifully located, near Keswick and a perfect shopping centre. The cottage was excellent with all the amenities one would expect. Lovely place that provides the right atmosphere for a holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of England.
Mr Nuy, Aerdt, May 2012

The area is ideal for walking and the accommodation ideally situated. The owner was particularly helpful.
Mr Coupe, Ashford, September 2011

This is a peaceful location with wonderful views and yet very handy for Keswick and the Lake District. It is also close to the Cumbrian coast which offers pleasing alternatives to the countryside.
Mr Starkie, St. Helens, December 2010

Location was spectacular. Owner was helpful and most welcoming. Accommodation was roomy, warm and comfortable, particularly as the weather was so inclement. Many walks direct from the door.
