    "It was a lovely clean cottage opposite the train station."

    Good amenities. Everything you need for a self catering stay. It was nice we had a couple of sweet welcome items left for us but after hours of driving the things that would have been appreciated was a few essential items like bread, butter, bottle of milk, tea, coffee and sugar to make a drink after arrival as there was nothing. There was a coffee making machine but no pods so after unloading the car, we had to get back in and drive about ten minutes to the nearest shop to get supplies. (Just noticed this was mentioned in a previous review) Great there was a local pub and cafe with in a few steps from the cottage that we visited as soon as got there Mon/Tues as both are closed several days mid week. A great cottage to explore the lakes.

    "General Feedback for Holiday Property Overall Impression I found the accommodation to be comfortable and well-maintained throughout my stay."

    Upon arrival, the property was clean and all facilities were exactly as described, which greatly contributed to an enjoyable experience. Location and Surroundings The property's location proved to be very convenient. It is situated just a 7 to 8-minute drive from the nearest COOP shop, with a larger ASDA supermarket an additional 5 to 7 minutes away. The natural environment and local attractions make this an excellent choice for those wishing to escape the noise of the city. The train station is located directly opposite the property, with an open area on the other side, which is ideal for taking a walk. However, it's important to be cautious in this area due to warning signs about quicksand, though the grassed section is suitable for picnics or strolls. Great surroundings for trekking, as there are trekking routes around. Property Features and Amenities I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches provided, such as the welcome pack and the clear instructions for using the various appliances. The small outdoor space was a delightful feature, offering a perfect spot to relax in the evenings, especially on sunny days. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the necessary utensils for those who enjoy cooking. Cleanliness While the property was generally very clean, I did notice that the window head frame in the bathroom had some cobwebs, indicating that this area may be overlooked during cleaning. Communication Communication with the property owner was consistently prompt and helpful, both during the booking process and throughout my stay. Conclusion and Recommendation Overall, it was a pleasant holiday experience. I would certainly consider returning in the future and would be happy to recommend the property to others.

    I cannot fault the home it is beautiful, very central to all areas. Beautiful little cafe next door , open some of the week. Scones are amazing. The owner is extremely helpful. Can highly recommend.

    "Very impressed with the property."

    It is a little smaller than we would normally book, but the location was perfect and therefore compensated for this. The property is first class on cleanliness and attention to detail. The welcome pack was very gratefully received. We didn’t have time to use the train as on this occasion we only stayed a couple of nights. We will be using it on our return visit. The only thing that lets it down is the garden it could do with some maintenance as it’s overgrown. We love the area and have stayed in different properties over the years. The property location with the lovely views has made us decide to re book for the whole week in a few weeks time. We are now looking forward to our second visit this summer.

    "Lovely house with high quality fixtures/fittings, furniture and appliances."

    Extremely clean and very comfortable (including all beds). Well equipped, and biscuits/crisps etc that were left were a nice touch.Only issues for us: tight driveway - for bigger modern cars it would be a squeeze! Plus the noise from engineering trains that came through on several nights at around 3 am (bring ear plugs!)

    "It was very comfortable and we loved the location overlooking the Duddon estuary and with the railway station just opposite."

    The SLOW train to Carlisle follows the coast and is beautiful. Having a designated parking space was good. The cottage was well appointed and the views from the bedrooms were grand. Pam’s cafe just round the corner was excellent though only open three days a week. Kirkby in Furness is in a quiet non touristy village.

    "Station View is a super cottage, cozy, clean and very well equipped."

    Very lucky to have 2 great pubs within easy walking distance … The Ship and The Commercial. Fantastic location to explore the West Coast - we enjoyed trips to the stunning Wastwater, a ride on La’al Ratty from Ravenglass, and a visit to Muncaster Castle. Bonus to have the main line railway just across the road - we went on the train to Carlisle.

    "I love this are of Cumbria and the location of the cottage was perfect."

    From the accommodation we crossed the lane and hopped on the train to travel up the coast, knowing we were coming back to a warm, well-equipped, clean and very comfortable cottage. The estuary is a very special place with stunning views and amazing light. I would definitely like to stay at this cottage again.

    "We had a wonderful stay here, it’s a real “home away from home”."

    We would stay here again as it has everything you need and is very comfortable and easy with our two children. We did have a couple of niggles on arrival as it had been empty for some time and so there were a few cobwebs in high places and some dust around. Under the beds, sofas and bedside cabinets hadn’t been hoovered so we had to do this ourselves. We mentioned this on arrival, and also because the toilet flush had broken (it was fixed within a couple of hours) and also the WiFi didn’t work for the duration of our stay. We were told that there was an oversight with it being empty for some weeks, so hopefully these issues were a one-off. It also would have been really helpful to have had some milk or something on arrival as there is no longer a shop in the village. Other than the niggles, we really had a pleasant stay, everything else was super clean and comfortable, lovely and warm and we never ran out of hot water. The loft room is fab for the kids to have their own space and the kitchen has everything you could need for a few meals. We will definitely stay again the next time we visit our family.

    "Absolutely amazing cottage, went there to relax and that's what we did."

    ...plenty todo around the area, walking, catch the train to places local pub just 30secs walk away, everyone friendly that we spoke to, highly recommend this cottage, fully equipped with everything you need, just like been at home. We fully enjoyed our break here and if we get chance again will come back.

Kirkby-in-Furness is a collection of six hamlets on the Furness peninsula overlooking the Duddon estuary. The village is home to a general store and two pubs as well as a railway station on the Cumbrian Coast Line. Just five miles away is Broughton-in-Furness which has much to please the visitor such as a pretty, cobbled square complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs and homes. The village provides an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley and the quieter Lake District fells. East of Kirkby-in-Furness is the ancient market town of Ulverston which still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it’s well known as a festival town with events throughout the year, including walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town’s great claims to fame is as the birthplace of Stan Laurel - it is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world! Facilities include a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. All of the attractions of the National Park are easily reached and nearby family attractions include the World of Beatrix Potter, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Muncaster Castle.
