Should flag up to owner that other people are putting rubbish in the designated Cumbria Waste bin which caused bin to overflow at end of stay.

One bit of advice for those staying is keep the tub of nuts inside as the squirrel managed to get the lid of twice lol. No hesitation in recommending anyone to stay here and I hope to come back again

Outside you have a huge dining table with seating for eight, you then walked down a few steps that took you over a small bridge to an area where the BBQ and a large fire pit are located with yet another seating area under a wooden outdoor structure which resembled a large beach hut, add to this the outside lights which were strung back across back towards the house and it provided us with some very memorable and relaxed evenings. Inside one half of the double garage adjacent to this were a full size pool table and tabletop football! The web pictures did not do justice to the size and scale of the property, every attention to detail and quality has been paid and the owners were extremely helpful.

The cottage is just fantastic in every way. The setting, the facilities and quality of everything was just 5 star. The owners John and Lisa were so helpful and checked in with us to make sure we had everything. The log burner was amazing and heated the large lounge area really quickly although we had 3 days of largely sunny weather in late September - so lucky! Beautifully-presented throughout, with immaculate attention to detail, this cottage is ideally suited to friends and family wishing to enjoy time together in one of the most stunning areas of the Lake District.

Set over two floors, the main house has three bedrooms and bathrooms and a spacious open plan sitting room which has a woodburner housed in front of a slate wall.

There is a stunning quality kitchen with AGA, butcher’s sink, granite surfaces, marble floor and let’s not forget the wine chiller to keep your favourite tipple chilled to enjoy inside or out.

Also enjoy the delightful feature of the open wall contemporary window from the kitchen to the sitting room, allowing a view to the conservatory sitting area with French doors to the garden and beyond.

Open the French doors on to the wrap-around patio and enjoy the silence broken only by birdsong or step down into the garden and sit and listen to the relaxing sound of the babbling stream.

Across the garden is the studio perfect for extended family, friends or perhaps teenagers.

This accommodation provides an open plan kitchen and sitting room with TV, shower room and bedroom with views over the garden.

Just 10 minutes' walk away from this lovely property is the tip of Lake Windermere with the Lakeside Hotel with spa and restaurant, and where you can embark onto Lakeland cruises to Ambleside and Bowness.

Situated alongside the Lakeside Station is the long-standing Lakeside and Haverwaithe Railway, home to Britain’s oldest standard gauge steam engine, on which you can travel back in time along this well-loved Heritage line, and where little ones will delight in meeting Thomas and his friends. Visit the Lakes Aquarium to uncover the often-secretive world of life below water, where you’ll chance upon hundreds of captivating creatures that feature in the surrounding rivers, lakes and sea. There are wonderful, well-signed walks to be enjoyed in the immediate area, including the 5-mile route to Finsthwaite’s High Dam, which trails from Lakeside through pleasant woodlands and meadows.
