About the location

Braithwaite

Keswick 3 miles.

Between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, lies the village of Braithwaite. Still retaining much of its traditional appeal, the Coledale Beck runs through the village with whitewashed Lakeland cottages, two village shops and two real ale Inns each brimming with character! Between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw, there really is something for everyone. Visit Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake with an open-air theatre, or take a trip around the lake. Trotters Farm, Dodd Wood, Derwentwater, and Keswick with its wide range of attractions, are also within easy reach.

The house was immaculate, light, spacious and very well equipped. Owner was friendly and helpful. The position of the house was amazing, we were able to go on brilliant walks and bike rides every day without needing to drive somewhere first. We would love to come back.

Mr Wilsher, Sheffield, August 2013

The cottage was great and warm. The view was amazing. We had a very relaxing time.

Mrs Chayka, London, March 2013

The property was very spacious and comfortable and well laid out. Really good equipment and facilities. I think we will visit again.

Mrs Essery, Liverpool, January 2013

Stoneyacre turned out to be an excellent base for a holiday in the Lake District. Beautifully located, near Keswick and a perfect shopping centre. The cottage was excellent with all the amenities one would expect. Lovely place that provides the right atmosphere for a holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of England.
