  • "What an amazing house, could not of ask for more."

This house offers something for everyone. What is listed is supplied and the lettings team, were on hand for everything we needed help on. Would definitely go back and this place is perfect for families or large groups. We had 16 adults and not once did we feel the place wasn't big enough.

  • "The house was amazing and loved by all who stayed."

The space meant that we could spread out and relax. The basement facilities are incredible and kept all entertained along with the hot tub. The kitchen was the best for me, it meant that everyone could congregate for a chat, help with food prep and relax around the large dining table. Thank you for having such a fab property. We would definitely stay again.

  • "14 of us had a lovely stay at this beautiful house."

There was plenty of space for us all, the games room and cinema were fantastic. Kitchen was well equipped with utensils with plenty of fridge space. The only problems we had was an issue with the hot tub and the downstairs shower didn't get warm enough to use, but despite that ..we all had a fantastic time in beautiful surroundings.

our second time at Woodfield Farm, just 30 minutes from Blackpool, 1 he from the lakes. Great basement with pool, table tennis

  • "The cottage is amazing but it could have been cleaner."

There were cobwebs in the kitchen and both ovens needed a good clean. We had a bad experience with the hot tub maintenance man. He wasn’t happy that he had to come out to us. The owner seemed very nice and sorted it out very quickly. We had a fab time even though we had a few niggles. The cottage is very well equipped and the children in the party just wanted to play downstairs all day which was good as we didn’t get very good weather. All in all it was a very good break away.

  • "Series of minor problems with the property somewhat spoiled this holiday, as follows: No starter fuel for wood burner (states there would be one on your website) One of gas hobbs not working Kettle not working."

Had to be replaced by owner Main bathroom light not working Downstairs shower not working. Could not be used None of illuminated mirrors worked Fridge door handle broken (although told a part had been ordered) Ice dispenser not working No supply of waste bin bags Ovens in need of proper cleaning BBQ not useable due to filthy state of racks etc Only two tea towels provided for 15 people for 5 nights This could be a real luxury holiday home but these things should not happen when paying the amount of rental that I did. Property has 5 ticks on your website so I would expect a much better standard than I got. Suggest you discuss with owner and also suggest a tick list is provided to whoever checks the properties so that others don't experience the same problems. Attention to detail is still important.

  • "Had a fantastic weekend at Woodfield Farm, plenty to do for everyone, facilities were all great and the beds were really comfy!"

Would definitely recommend. We booked to use the field for a 'Sports Day' event which was shown in the pictures but has now been fenced off - however we were still able to use the field. Advise to take dishwasher tablets and bin bags. A really nice venue, great in the summer.

  • "Our family booked this cottage (7 adults and 6 children) for a weeks holiday over Easter."

It’s much larger than the pictures show and even though the weather was really poor, we had a fantastic week due to the amazing facilities the house has to offer. The kids loved the space in the ‘Kids room’ in the loft and the mirrored studio where they spent hours making up dance routines! The cinema room and hot tub were also big hits (the bath robes provided in every room were very useful for popping to and from the hot tub). We found it very warm, even with the cool temperatures outside which meant we didn’t need to light the log burner. The kitchen was huge and well equipped; the plastic plates and cups were great for the kids.

  • "We have booked many Sykes cottages but I must say we were disappointed with this property, no welcome pack, bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been, the mop was extremely dirty, the downstairs double bedroom had one very narrow wardrobe not big enough for two peoples clothes for one week, no dressing table, so all our things had to be on the windowsill for the week, I'd say this property is more suitable for get together for young ones."

Didn't suite our family, ages from 91-7 years, wouldn't recommend.

  • "Woodfield was excellent throughout , as I indicated above, but the only drawback that we found was that the upstairs bedrooms were a little cool and we couldn't improve this situation despite turning the room stats up."

Unfortunately the situation was made worse by the fact that we had terrible windy snowy weather over the whole weekend . Apart from that , which I 'm sure can be remedied easily, we all had a great time and hopefully we will return in the near future.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Woodfield Farm."

Our party was a mixture of adults and children and the property was large enough to cater for all our needs. The facilities were amazing and we really enjoyed the snooker, table tennis and the hot tub. The location was wonderful. It was next to a working farm but this did not affect our stay. We are already looking at returning.

  • "Enjoyed everything about the holiday."

The luxurious bathrobes were a lovely touch and were used every day to the hot tub and back. The only criticism would be that a bigger or an extra fridge would of made it a bit easier to manage and a recycling bin. Our guests ranged from ages 11 - 62 and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it which proves that you really have thought of everything to keep all ages amused and entertained. There was so much to do that we ran out of time to do everything we had planned so were looking forward to our return visit next year but to our horror its fully booked (which just proves how great this place is).

About the location

RIBCHESTER

Blackburn 7 miles; Clitheroe 9 miles; Preston 11 miles.

The village of Ribchester is encircled by green hills and lies in a curve of the River Ribble mid way between Preston and Clitheroe. It is a pleasant jumble of multi-coloured stone cottages in long twisting terraces. It has three pubs, the White Bull, dated 1707, the Black Bull and the Ribchester Arms and the award-winning Chinese restaurant Yu and You Restaurant and Bar. The White Bull has a porch canopy supported by four columns said to be from Roman ruins. The village takes its name from the River Ribble and the fort of Bremetennacum (the walled town by the Ribble). For this reason, Ribchester has been seen to have a purely Roman foundation, but excavations in 1977 showed that settlements going back to the middle Bronze Age existed in the area. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Ribble Valley is a rural haven of spectacular scenery, diverse natural habitats and historical legend, a place of almost incomparable peace, where adults and children alike can enjoy the simple pleasures of the outdoors without the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Longridge is easily reached, a unique town with plenty of interesting shops and tempting eateries, described as 'big on character' by the Sunday Times and ranked in their '101 Best Places To Live In Britain'. Nearby Clitheroe is famed for its specialist shops of all types, including, amongst others, a sausage shop that sells over seventy-five different varieties! A gourmet's paradise, with award-winning restaurants and country hotels situated throughout the valley, and annual events including a number of agricultural shows and day festivals of all types, this fantastic location has plenty to offer at any time of year!

Note: Max. 14 adults and 2 children up to 16 years.
