The lovely village of West Woodburn lies amidst the deep Rede Valley and was once an important resting point in Roman times for travellers on route to Scotland from York. The village hosts a welcoming pub and a post office selling basic supplies, whilst visitors can also explore the remains of one of the outpost forts of Hadrian's Wall that passes nearby. The historic village Otterburn, with its world famous Woollen Mill and Shop is just a short drive away and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike, whilst the nearby, beautiful Kielder Forest affords fantastic fishing, boating, horse riding and nature watching opportunities. A lovely, quiet cottage with nicely decorated rooms. The new conservatory was a nice surprise, and the garden was appreciated as was viewing the garden pond and its lilies from the window in front of the dining table. Feeding the fish proved entertaining too!
