These two holiday cottages are situated on a family-run livestock farm, surrounded by rolling countryside in the hamlet of Selside, close to Kendal and the Lake District National Park. These two spacious and comfortable Lake District cottages have been lovingly created from old farm buildings and each are furnished and decorated to a very high standard, whilst retaining character features such as exposed beams. Each of these Cumbria cottages overlooks a tarn and has a private decked area, along with a private lawned garden, so no matter what time of day you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or you may wish to relax and observe the local wildlife, consisting of pheasant, woodpeckers and the two resident deer. There is so much to do in the area with a number of walking and cycling routes on the doorstep plus the Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley, Lake District, Windermere and Ullswater are all close by. The town of Kendal is a 10-minute drive away offering charming alleyways, many lovely restaurants and individual shops, plus Sizergh Castle with its beautiful parkland and gardens are well worth exploring. Heading into Yorkshire, you will find the White Scar Caves at Ingleton, which give an insight into the underground world formed over thousands of years. These two Lake District cottages are a perfect retreat for a couple, at any time of the year.
