Stainforth is a charming village with a thriving community life in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Stone built traditional cottages, narrow lanes, the village church and the quaint old pub all go together to make this one of the prettiest villages in the shire of Ribblesdale. Nearby are the famous Stainforth Foss and the medieval Packhorse Bridge, beloved by Sir Edward Elgar. The village is about three miles from Settle, a bustling market town with excellent shopping facilities, a good selection of restaurants and a thriving market day, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide range of goods. The Settle to Carlisle Railway, the most scenic in England features the occasional steam train, and the run across the Ribblehead viaduct with its twenty-four arches is an experience not to be missed. An excellent area for walkers with the Three Peaks nearby, and a good base for touring the Dales, while the Lake District can be reached in less than an hour.

The cottage was of a high standard, very comfortable, clean and beautifully presented. The village was very pretty and quiet with amazing walks. The village pub was friendly and served very good pub meals. The scenery was amazing in the local area. I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends or family.
