About the location

Tunstall

Kirkby Lonsdale 3 miles.

Tunstall is a small village in the Lune Valley, just three miles from Kirkby Lonsdale and the ‘famous’ Devils Bridge, made up of traditional stone built dwellings, a Grade I listed Church and the Lunesdale Arms, a renowned bar and fine restaurant. Located just a mile away, The Highwayman Inn is one of a group of fine dining pubs owned by the renowned chef Nigel Haworth. Nearby Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, mid-way between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Thursday is market day, a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town, or the many 17th and 18th century buildings which still stand. This part of the Lune Valley was a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, and was made famous by Ruskin - his "view" of the valley is still spectacular. The quiet country lanes are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even horse. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, fishing and a variety of riverside and country walks, making the area an ideal location for a break, whatever time of year.

The cottage was beautiful and made our holiday. It was very cosy to stay in on an evening as it had a lovely log burner and the whole house was extremely warm. The under floor heating was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in The Paddock.

Mrs Jenkins, Hull, March 2014

The cottage was bright and spacious with a modern décor and plenty of room. The underfloor heating in the kitchen was much appreciated in the Winter mornings. The location was ideal, being far enough out of the town to be quiet and peaceful but close enough to the amenities.

Miss Smith, Potters Bar, January 2014

One word describes The Paddock - Fabulous! We booked the property to get away from it all and celebrate my 50th birthday. So glad we did. It's a real home from home complete with quality fixtures and fittings including underfloor heating and a high tech. surround sound system. The bed in the master bedroom is huge! The location is ideal for walks, visiting the Dales and the Lake District. Particularly impressive are the viaducts on the Settle to Carlisle Railway. Both pubs nearby provided quality meals, would not hesitate to rebook or recommend to family and friends.

Mr Daykin, BURSTWICK, January 2014

The cottage was absolutely fantastic. Could not fault it in any way. Perfect place to re-charge our batteries after a busy December. Would recommend to anybody to stay at The Paddock.

Mr Cooper, Nottingham, January 2014
