Location: Greenodd

Ulverston 3 miles; Coniston 12 miles.

The small village of Greenodd rests on the estuary of Carmel Sands, within the Crake Valley, on the borders of the Lake District National Park. Once an 18th century shipbuilding centre and a significant commercial port, exporting locally quarried limestone, gunpowder and copper, Greenodd today is effectively a cul-de-sac with a selection of shops and the local pub, The Ship, which provides a visible link to the village’s history. The ancient market town of Ulverston is just 3 miles away, famous for its street markets and festivals, and boasts a wide range of shops, pubs and leisure facilities. It is also home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. All the attractions of the National Park are within easy reach, including Coniston and Windermere, as is the beautiful Furness Coast with its golden beaches and good birdwatching opportunities. An ideal location for enjoying fantastic coastal and countryside pursuits.

Previous visitors' comments about 1 Mount Pleasant Cottages:

The cottage was very clean and warm and parking was OK. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. Easy access to the A590, which takes you anywhere in the Lakes.
Mr Gregson, Blackpool, December 2011

The cottage was lovely and maintained to a high standard. Excellent location for access to both lakes with Coniston 10-15 min drive and Windermere 20-25min drive as its in a small village right by the main 'A' road, but far enough away not to hear the traffic.
Mr Thomas, Merthyr Tydfil, November 2011

The hosts welcoming us to the cottage was a particularly nice touch. We found the cottage was cleaned to a very high standard prior to our arrival and the overall furnishing and kitchen facilities were more than we expected. The cottage is situated in a part of the lakes that makes it easy to explore all areas with short drives and Coastal resorts are just as accessible. On the whole this has been a very memorable holiday and we cannot wait to return.
Mr Spencer, Doncaster, September 2011

The Cottage was in a good situation for the main attractions in the South Lakes. The Village itself was OK and a good Fish& Chip shop. The best shops are in Barrow in Furness but if you just want select items then Ullverston is just down the road. The owners were very friendly.
Mrs Rethmeyer, Salthausen, September 2011
