Ulverston 3 miles; Coniston 12 miles.
The small village of Greenodd rests on the estuary of Carmel Sands, within the Crake Valley, on the borders of the Lake District National Park. Once an 18th Century shipbuilding centre and a significant commercial port, exporting locally quarried limestone, gunpowder and copper, Greenodd today is effectively a cul-de-sac with a selection of shops and the local pub, The Ship, which provides a visible link to the village’s history. The ancient market town of Ulverston is just 3 miles away, famous for its street markets and festivals, and boasts a wide range of shops, pubs and leisure facilities. It is also home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. All the attractions of the National Park are within easy reach, including Coniston and Windermere, as is the beautiful Furness Coast with its golden beaches and good birdwatching opportunities. An ideal location for enjoying fantastic coastal and countryside pursuits.

A very cosy cottage and we found the owners to be extremely friendly.
Mrs Hamilton, Leek, November 2009
Great walks just from the door of the property. The lounge was very cosy and the kitchen was big and spacious. A lovely little village, because it was very close to the estury and not far from other little villages and lake. One of the best holidays we have been on.
Miss Stroker, Enfield, October 2009
Overall our experience was very good and we have already recommended to family and friends.
We have never stayed in such a clean and tidy cottage with so many little home touches - a credit to the owners.
Mr & Mrs Bassick, Bedford, October 2009
Lovely accommodation and beautiful scenery, whilst maintaining a home from home feeling.
