Bolton-by-Bowland is a pretty working village nestling in the hills and dales of the Ribble Valley, north-east of Clitheroe and west of Skipton. With two village greens, a village hall, cricket club, two pubs serving food, a shop and a tearoom, Bolton-by-Bowland is an excellent village base for a holiday in this area. The surrounding Ribble Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a peaceful and picturesque haven. Peace and quiet. Well appointed kitchen. Excellent choice of books and games. Quality of fixtures and fittings. The piano which was a nice bonus. Attitude of the owners. Plenty of space inside and out. Plus a TV in the master bathroom!

The Ribble Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the Forest of Bowland equally beautiful. The area offers lovely countryside, good walking opportunities and excellent eating out. The house was outstanding in its position and facilities.

We enjoyed the location, the superb facilities in the house and the availability of the playhouse for children. The hosts were generous and kind, organising extra equipment for our twin grandchildren. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We participated in the Jubilee celebrations in the village on a very warm and sunny day. It is likely that we shall book Fox Ghyll in the future.
