The ancient market town of Ulverston still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it’s well known as a festival town with events throughout the year, including walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town’s great claims to fame is as the birthplace of Stan Laurel - it is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world! Facilities include a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. Whilst many Lakeland destinations have been developed beyond recognition, Ulverston still has an authentic feel and community spirit. All of the attractions of the National Park are easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Birkrigg Common's Stone Circle, Morecambe Bay and Lakes Windermere and Coniston.

We arrived to find the apartment very welcoming, beautifully clean and well presented and I believe the bathroom, kitchen, bedding curtains and kitchen equipment seemed to be new. We were very impressed and would recommend to anyone as 1st class.
