About the location

Hexham 17 miles.

Known as the 'Centre of Britain', this small market town is a great place from which to explore both Northumberland and Cumbria. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs - one of which, The Black Bull, is a real ale pub serving good food! There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles to be seen. There is even an ongoing 'dig' at the nearby site of Vindolanda. This truly is magnificent walking, riding and cycling country, with the Pennine Way and various bridleways and cycle routes passing rivers, forests, castles and of course, Hadrian's Wall. Visitors will enjoy this location in all weather and all seasons a regular train and bus service from the town to Newcastle, The Metro Centre and Carlisle, means that you can leave the car behind and enjoy!

The apartment was warm, comfortable and very good value for money. It is ideal for visits to sites or walking along Hadrian's wall. There are plenty of pubs locally and a good supermarket just 5 minutes away too.

Mr Coates, Grimsby, March 2014

Warm, cosy, well equipped apartment, in a great location in Haltwhistle, which is convenient for Hadrian's Wall, Kielder and other surrounding walks.

Mrs Carrington, Manchester, February 2014

Excellent, convenient location. Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. One of the best self catering properties we have stayed at.

Mrs Grady, Bangor, January 2014

This accommodation was a gem in the heart of Haltwhistle. It was in the main street with easy access to all services, with Sainsburys so very close as well being just a short walk away. Beautifully clean apartment and well decorated - we would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend this to other travellers.

Mrs Worthy, November 2013

Very good accommodation, ranks as one of the best we have stayed in. Convenient location for all we wanted to do and see in the area. Quiet, but right in the centre of the small town, all necessary services and transport on the doorstep.

Mrs Winstanley, Todmorden, October 2013

This was a very pleasant place to stay. Everything was very clean and extremely comfortable. The large television, games console and Wi-Fi were a bonus. Haltwhistle and surrounding areas are lovely places to explore.

Mrs Johnson, Downham Market, September 2013

The property was lovely, clean and comfortable and in a brilliant location. Great holiday, hope to go back next year.

Mrs Allen, Peterborough, September 2013

The property was in the centre of Haltwhistle and everything we needed was within walking distance, including bus and train. I particularly liked the window seat. A very good property.

Rev Anderson, Southminster, August 2013

The central location in the town was brilliant. Being able to walk to local shops/pubs/etc was a real bonus. Also the proximity to bus stops and train station was excellent and meant we could leave the car. The location was perfect for the walking we planned to do. The apartment was extremely spacious and very comfortable.

Mrs Robertson, Bury St. Edmunds, August 2013

We really enjoyed our holiday. The apartment was excellent, very clean and well furnished. We would stay again if we visit the area. Thank you
