"We had a lovely week at Fogga Croft."

There is a property immediately to the left which is undergoing renovation, this can be noisy at times. Close to main road, but we are used to road noise. Last photograph on the reel is actually on the grounds of the hotel across the road, sign says residents of hotel only. Can't really walk anywhere directly from the house as road busy and no footpath. Accessibility wise note there are 3 steps up into the kitchen from the living room with no grab rail, also downstairs bedrooms have a fairly big raise from floor level into shower. Kitchen is well equipped and good oven space. Induction hob which is fast, but no instructions how to use. French doors out to patio and BBQ are nice. BBQ in need of a deep clean. Dish soap, dishwasher tablets and multi surface cleaner all provided, as well as kitchen roll and bin bags. A few more tea towels would have been useful. Lovely welcome basket including gorgeous bread, milk, butter and some treats. Beds very comfortable, linen lovely and loads of towels. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner all provided and plenty of toilet roll. Hot tub was a lovely treat and easy to follow instructions. Communication with Caroline and David was very good. A couple of problems cropped up, they responded immediately and ensured issues were sorted. Overall house is lovely and well placed to explore North Yorkshire.

The property

Step inside Fogga Croft Cottage to discover a welcoming blend of rustic character and contemporary comfort.

The generous open-plan living space features exposed beams, cosy sofas, and a woodburning stove (with an initial supply of wood and kindling provided), making it ideal for gathering together after a day exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

French doors lead directly out to the patio area, where you can enjoy meals in the fresh air or unwind in the private hot tub. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area has everything you need to prepare hearty meals, while thoughtful touches throughout the cottage include TVs in each bedroom and stylish furnishings. Fogga Croft Cottage offers six beautifully presented bedrooms, all complete with private en-suite facilities, so no sharing bathrooms during your stay.

Four of the bedrooms feature superking zip and link beds, offering flexible sleeping arrangements to suit families, friends or couples.

For added convenience, some bedrooms are located on the ground floor. There is also a convenient ground-floor cloakroom with WC and basin. The utility area includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, travel cot, additional cot, two highchairs, and dog bowls. Outside, the patio offers a lovely spot to fire up the gas BBQ on summer evenings or simply soak in the hot tub while taking in the surrounding countryside. Fogga Croft is perfectly situated on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with excellent access to scenic walking and cycling routes including the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath, Cycle Route 68, and the famous Pennine Way.

You're also within walking distance of The Coniston Hotel, where you’ll find dining options, a bar/pub, spa facilities, and a shooting ground (access and use payable locally).

The village of Gargrave is just a short drive away for shops and additional amenities, while excellent road links make it easy to explore both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

Just 4 miles from the cottage lies the bustling market town of Skipton, known as the “Gateway to the Dales,” home to a historic castle and a celebrated high street lined with independent shops and eateries.
