    • “The cottage was perfect for my husband, myself and our puppy. It was so clean, warm and well stocked. Plenty of long walks directly from the cottage which our puppy enjoyed. The owner is so lovely, making sure everything was ok but also giving us privacy. The hot tub is amazing! We have never slept so well in a self catering cottage, the bed was so comfortable, it was so quiet and we were so relaxed after a session in the hot tub. We saw lots of wildlife within a short walk of the property. I would highly recommend this property. We certainly did not want to leave.”

    • “Words cannot describe how wonderful Roe Deer Cottage is. All previous reviews are spot on! I stayed here last year for the first time as a base for visiting family and friends and couldn't wait to return this year. I love the peace and quiet and privacy that you don't get from staying in a hotel and the scenery isn't bad either! Debbie is fantastic, such a lovely person and great host. I will definitely be back next year and each and every time I am in Lincoln. Thanks a million Debbie, for everything.”

    • “If you ever feel you need a 'bolt hole' from the world, this is it! My wife & I arrived for a week long stay, ragged, tattered & torn by the demands of busy lives. On arrival we met Debbie, the owner, she is the most compassionate, attentive and caring person you could ever meet. Our choccie Labrador Denver was made as welcome as we were. Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and we cannot thank her enough for all she did to make our week the more 'special'. It was 'special' in every sense, the cottage is delightful. the log fire was amazing in the evening's, the location just perfect. So many quiet walks with Denver in beautiful Lincolnshire Countryside, we even got to watch the Red arrows working on their routine from the cottage garden!! The end of every day was spent with a glass of wine in the fantastic 'hot tub', totally secluded & private, and a wonderful, relaxing end to each day. What an experience! This indicated just how far Debbie has gone down 'the extra mile' to provide everything you could ever need. We really did not want to leave, and we will be back on a regular basis to recharge, rebalance and realign our energies in this glorious sanctuary, this heavenly oasis of peace. Debbie thanks again, so very much!”

    • “We can unreservedly recommend Roe Deer Cottage having just spent a lovely week there. The cottage is warm, cosy and nicely appointed. The location is very quiet & unique - views of Lincoln cathedral just a mile or so away as the crow might fly but positioned at the very far end of a long gravel track you would be had pressed to know even existed from the main road and alongside a fen waterway with wildlife pond just across the fields. Use of a secluded first class hot tub accessible at any time of day just yards from the door. Best of all - the most welcoming hostess imaginable! Always quick if you have a question, always friendly but otherwise leaves her guests to enjoy the splendid facilities she has fashioned. Great job Debbie!”

    • “Roe deer cottage is set in lovely countryside. Its very peaceful. With a view of Lincoln catherdral. The hot tub has its own roof with lights in it and the tub its self has colour changing lights in the bottom. The tub adds a romantic feel to the place. We were also able to tall our dog with us and there was plenty of walks for her. We even found a beach that dogs were allowed on inrestricted. The owner and her family were very welcoming and friendly.”

    • “Me and my expectant wife, along with our dog, stayed here for a week in the Easter holidays and it was superb value at only around £300 or so. The owner Debbie made us feel very welcome, and even left us a bottle of wine and a card to welcome us which was a nice touch. The cottage itself is down a dirt track (don't wash your car before you come!) which is the only minor annoyance, and it really is a minor detail, as we found this beautiful cottage in a perfect location, feeling like you're miles from anything but you're actually very close to lincoln city centre, and most of the main roads to head anywhere around the local area. We had a great time, and hope to return as a family. Forgot to mention, the hot tub is superb!”

    • “What a lovely place”

    • “A fantastic little hideaway. Right on the edge of the city and yet so quiet you could hear a pin drop. No point describing the wonderful property or owner as everyone else has done this. Only a mile and a half walk along a track to the supermarket - in fact, the main shopping area is just across the road from the supermarket! And a short walk in the other direction takes you out into the countryside - approximately 1 mile to the ring road & once under this you can link up with the national cycle network, a fairly straight, firm path which takes you miles out into the countryside, through the nearby village of Skellingthorpe and beyond. Alternatively, turning right & crossing a footbridge allows you to follow the canal, either back into Lincoln or, again, out into the countryside. The only downside is that the countryside is so flat that some of the walks are very exposed & can be very cold when the winds blow! And, of course, the danger is that with the countryside being so flat, you end up walking much further than you thought possible! The hot tub is, therefore, a must at the end of the day - and a real Godsend. Be warned - it can be addictive. Can't wait to go back later in the year to try out some of the walks we didn't get to do this time.”

    • “Where do you start! What a beautiful, well equipped cottage in a secluded position yet within easy reach of amazing Lincoln. The hot tub in the garden just crowns the amazing experience at this lovely hideaway. Situated at the end of a mile long private lane Roe Deer provides everything you need for a relaxing break away from it all. Debbie the owner really does go the extra mile in providing everything you need and amazing little individual touches for each guest too! Brilliant!”

    • “Where to start?! The cottage is amazing and so are the family behind it! Fantastic location, we had so much fun driving up and down the lane in the puddles... The directions are very useful, however Pig Lane did show up on google maps on my blackberry. The cottage from outside... Fab walks on the door step. Amazing views of the cathedral and at night a windmill too. Close to a train line which you can see but not hear much off at all. The train made for different viewing while in the hot tub of an evening. Ample parking for 2 cars. Looks well equipped for summer with a table and chairs and a BBQ. The owner made a point that the garden is a work in progress but having seen the main house and our cottage the garden will be amazing! Log store was easy to access. Hot tub was the best we've ever used and in the best surroundings. The hot tub house was truly unique. The cottage from inside... Amazing kitchen with smeg fridge freezer, and utility room with a washer and dryer. Bathroom with full bath, shower and airing cupboard. Living room was more than spacious with 2 3- seater sofas ( which when pushed together make an amazing double bed). Log burning fire and supa modern table. This cottage is amazing and the owners are too. Well worth every penny. Just a couple of points... The cleaner needs to pick up more of the cob webs and maybe could be a little more thorough... Nothing major. And the pans don't really work that well on a ceramic hob. We love this property and we will be back soon x x Thanks”

    • “We have just returned from our stay at Roe Deer Cottage and have withdrawal symptoms already. The cottage was absolutely amazing, Debbie the owner has thought of everything possible to make your stay a comfortable one. We chose the cottage for our Honeymoon as we have a dog and have no one to look after him so we decided to take him along rather than put him in to kennels. It was a honeymoon to remember and our dog loved it too. When we arrived Debbie met us even though it was late evening, she welcomed us into the cottage, helped us settle and showed us around the cottage. She had even gone so far as to put the hot tub ready for us so we could relax after our long drive. The welcome card and wine for our wedding was such a heartwarming touch and then she presented us with beautiful handmade cupcakes with our initials on, I'm getting emotional just thinking about it all again, it was such a lovely thing to experience. Debbie was always accommodating, anything we needed we just had to ask, she's a very special lady. The cottage is a lovely hideaway for honeymooners we would highly recommend it, we were lucky with the weather and with that and the private hot tub, we felt like we were in a 5 star hotel in the Maldives :) The cottage itself is decorated to such a high standard, it's easily the best cottage we have stayed in and we've visited a few over the years with our dog ha ha We were lucky to sight Roe Deer on two occassions which was magical, the wildlife and nature you are surrounded by makes you want to retreat to the countryside. There is a lovely pub within walking distance of the cottage we wandered up and had a drink outside with our dog. In the opposite direction just a short walk you arrive at Morrisons and Starbucks and local amenities saving you the hustle and bustle of going out in the car, the local area is amazing, everything you need is at hand but once you travel back up the bumpy road to the cottage it likes there is no one else but you :) it has a safe feel to it and that comes from someone who is scared of everything :) Roe Deer Cottage is definitely a must visit place. We hope to go back very soon.”
