  • "This house is one of the nicest we have stayed in."

Everything you need especially if you have dogs ,3 minutes to the sea, enclosed and private back garden, quite spacious with everything you need in the house. Toilet upstairs , bathroom downstairs , Lots of thought for dog owners. The only niggle was the double bed downstairs was so uncomfortable even though it was lovely for us as pensioners to have everything downstairs., but had to use an upstairs bed , and they were all very comfortable. We highly recommend Driftwood.

Very clean, well equipped, and all the facilities you could wish for. The only thing I would mention is that maybe a mattress topper on the double bed downstairs would make it more comfortable. But all in all I would recommend it and hopefully will be back again.

The garden was so pretty lovely seating area and very secure for the dogs. The sun is on the garden from 12. The property was spotless, comfy beds and pillows. The kitchen was so well equipped and the welcome tray was very well stocked. Beach was 2 minutes walk away and a tesco superstore at the end of the street. • "I am sorry to say we were very disappointed with the property and decided to leave before the end of the week."

We have stayed at many Sykes properties and have always been impressed with the quality unfortunately this was not the case with Driftwood. On arrival it took over 15 minutes to gain entry to the property. There were 3 keys with no labels that would fit the lock to the entrance porch but none of them would turn in the lock. After much jiggling around we eventually gained entry to be greeted with a very strong smell of mould. The whole place seemed to be uncared for. We took some photos as examples but there is nowhere to upload them. Some examples would be: Shelf over radiator in downstairs bedroom missing but brackets still sticking out of wall. One bedside lamp not working in upstairs double bedroom, it would occasionally flash so we unplugged it. Hole in vanity unit in upstairs toilet where presumable a sink used to be? Bedroom light switch not in bedroom. Lights on stairs not working Laundry basket cracked with hole in it. Button lying on chair. Mould in the shower. Wire sticking out of wall in twin bed bedroom.

  • "Wasn't going to say anything but read other reviews and have to agree."

It's not all bad, the cottage was a good size and it's ideally located. However, this cottage needs a bit of TLC. It had lots of quirky faults that we were quite surprised by. We got a message before we left that the porch was leaking ( fair enough) we arrived to a really strong smell of bleach ( better than mould I guess) and the outside door lock was a pain as the other review noted. Also we found That the kitchen stove extractor vented into the kitchen above it & the back garden was really overgrown and patio was uneven and loose. It didn't ruin our break by any means but it could do with a bit of maintenance.

Very dog friendly with bowls, treats & even a dog first aid kit for them! We have chihuahuas & always concerned about how secure the enclosed gardens are in properties, however this property is completely secure. The property is spacious with a very large comfy sofa & also comfy beds. All in all a very well equipped place to stay. The proximity to the beach is fab being a 3 minute walk. Our chihuahuas can be very wary of other dogs but the quietness of Withernsea beach was perfect for them. We would recommend this dog friendly property & will definitely return again in the future.

Matted accumulation of dog hairs on lounge carpet which bunched up when sitting down at settee corner unit. The odd Cobwebs and dead spiders hanging in lounge, kitchen and master bedroom. Shower was extremely poor flow and Black mould evidence along bottom of shower unit. Services and equipment left by the owners were satisfactory and of a high standard. Living room had good sized seating and dining area, tv had netflix which was a bonus. Kitchen was a good size. Downstairs bathroom was also a good size, bonus of an upsatirs toilet and small sink. Great storage areas and extra towels were great. Decent sized bedrooms, beds all made up, 2 doubles and one with twin beds, only down point was my husband and i chose to sleep in the single beds to let the children take opportunity for double beds and the matresses for these two beds were very firm so neither of us had a decent sleep all week. Property was, as mentioned a stone throw from the beach which being the bottom end would explain its quietness. The town centre itself (a 10-15min walk) was only small but had shops you would usually look for...takeaways, supermarkets (Tesco being round the corner), bit of everything shop but not much else. Amuzement was dog friendly and had a bit of everything but not very big. If you want to take a drive there are other places to visit Beverley deffo worth a visit! All in had a nice dog friendly break.
