The city of Lincoln offers numerous places to visit, making it an ideal holiday destination. Its impressive hill-top medieval cathedral not only boasts striking architecture but was also a film location for both The Da Vinci Code and coronation scenes in Young Victoria. Walk the walls of Lincoln Castle and climb the tower, taking in views over the city. In the summer months, enjoy the open-air theatre, pop and rock concerts and re-enactment weekends in the castle grounds. The castle also houses Lincoln’s Magna Carta. Lincoln has great shopping with quaint and quirky independent shops in the cathedral quarter, including the famous Christmas Market in early December. The area offers several aviation attractions from World War II museums to present day airfields. Nearby Scampton is home to the Red Arrows and the Dambusters Inn and Heritage Centre, while RAF Waddington offers an annual air show. Other local attractions include Doddington Hall, Whisby Nature Park, Lincolnshire's transport museum and Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park, making Lincoln an excellent destination for all the family.

Roe Deer Cottage is located at the bottom of a mile-long track next to the owner's home, and is a great base for a city break, with the delights of the countryside on your doorstep. This lovely Lincoln cottage offers beautifully furnished accommodation including a well-equipped kitchen, a bright sitting room with woodburner and dining area, and a comfortable bedroom, not to mention a lovely external, purpose-built room with York stone floors, star lighting and wrought iron windows, housing a shared hot tub, with privacy a priority. French doors from the kitchen and sitting room lead you onto a large patio with furniture, a great spot for alfresco dining and barbecues in the summer sun. From the patio, a wooden gate leads you into a large lawned garden with seating. Views from this Lincoln cottage and gardens overlook the canal and open fields, and in the distance Lincoln Cathedral, perched atop the hill. A local footpath nearby makes for great walking, while Lincoln also offers a castle and excellent shopping facilities, ensuring there is something to satisfy all tastes, within easy reach of this Lincoln cottage. Gorgeous location - very private and the gorgeousness of the house added to the ambiance of it all. Was almost like living in a next showroom! Beautiful!
Was a bit worried bout the shared hot tub - but it was very private - had no problems never bothered by anyone and never had to wait for anyone to leave.
Owner was lovely and so helpful - and full of information. Was all pretty perfect :)
