The city of Lincoln offers numerous places to visit, making it an ideal holiday destination. Its impressive hill-top medieval cathedral not only boasts striking architecture but was also a film location for both ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and coronation scenes in ‘Young Victoria’. Walk the walls of Lincoln Castle and climb the tower, taking in views over the city and in the summer months, or enjoy the open-air theatre, pop and rock concerts, and re-enactment weekends in the grounds. Lincoln has great shopping with quaint and quirky independent shops in the cathedral quarter and in the centre of Lincoln you will find many other shopping opportunities, including Lincoln’s famous Christmas Market on the first weekend in December. The area offers several aviation attractions from World War II museums to present day airfields. Nearby Scampton is home to the Red Arrows and the Dambusters heritage centre, while RAF Waddington offers an annual air show. Other local attractions include Doddington Hall, Whisby Natural World, Lincolnshire transport museum, Woodside Falconry and conservation centre, making Lincoln a great destination for all the family.

Roe Deer Cottage is located at the bottom of a mile long track next the owner's home, and is a great base for a city break, with the delights of the countryside on your doorstep. This lovely Lincoln cottage offers beautifully furnished accommodation including a well-equipped kitchen, a bright sitting room with woodburner and dining area, and a comfortable bedroom, not to mention a hot tub. French doors from the kitchen and sitting room lead you onto a large patio with furniture, a great spot for alfresco dining and barbecues in the summer sun. From the patio, a wooden gate leads you into a large lawned garden with seating. Views from this Lincoln cottage and gardens overlook the canal and open fields, and in the distance Lincoln Cathedral, perched atop the hill. A local footpath nearby makes for great walking, while Lincoln also offers a castle and excellent shopping facilities, ensuring there is something to satisfy all tastes, within easy reach of this Lincoln cottage.
