The friendly village of Lahardane is located close to the shores of Lough Conn in County Mayo, between Pontoon and Crossmolina, and only 12 miles from the popular town of Ballina. To the west of the village lies towering Nephin Mountain, offering superb walking opportunities and spectacular views. Fishing is a popular pastime, with well stocked lakes and rivers drawing in anglers from far and wide, whilst a range of attractions offer visitors an insight to the history of this enchanting area. The Ceide Fields in North Mayo are a must-visit attraction, dating back over five millennia and giving visitors a glimpse into stone age Ireland. You might also visit the nearby Foxford Woollen Mills to see how high quality tweed and fabrics are skilfully woven by local experts. With a national museum at Turlough House and the North Mayo Heritage Centre both an easy drive, you will be spoilt for choice for days out.

The Property

A comfortable detached cottage located on the outskirts of the village of Lahardane, near Ballina in County Mayo. This cosy Mayo cottage combines old world charm with a range of modern conveniences giving guests a true Irish cottage experience. A warming open fire can be found in the sitting room, and the beds are dressed with locally sourced linens from the nearby Foxford Woollen Mills, helping to ensure you have an excellent nights sleep after a busy day of sightseeing. Outside this Mayo cottage, there is plenty of space for children to run around and there is huge scope nearby to partake in a variety of activities including hill walking, fishing and cycling. For day trips why not visit the North Mayo Heritage Centre, Turlough House, Ballintubber Abbey, or the Ceide Fields; a stone age attraction that predates the ancient Egyptian Pyramids. A wonderful Mayo Cottage to be enjoyed throughout the year by all ages!
