Ardtermon (from the Irish language, meaning ‘high safe place’) lies in the north of County Sligo, and is a quiet town land beside the sea and Raghley harbour, offering a truly stunning coastal base to explore the splendour of this unspoilt county. The immediate area offers an abundance of things to do; there are four 18 hole golf courses, two horse riding centres, numerous inland and coastal walks and for the anglers there is sea and river fishing all close by. For a day's touring there are a number of suggestions for self-drive tours available from the local tourist office; why not hop across the border to the rugged county of Donegal a short distance away? What better way to finish a day's exploring than by sampling that true Irish hospitality in one of the village pubs, frequented by the locals and offering traditional Irish music? In the evening, why let the enjoyment end; for theatre lovers there is entertainment available at the Hawkswell Theatre in Sligo town, or why not try one of the many local restaurants offering something to satisfy everybody? So whether it's a quiet coastal getaway or perfectly situated base you are looking for, this location has it all.

This delightful, detached, traditional Sligo cottage has been the family home of the owner for many generations. Fully renovated but maintaining many traditional features, and delightfully decorated in the Irish country style, the cottage is situated on a working livestock farm with cows in the fields, in the quiet town land of Ardtermon on the Raghley Peninsula, and offers awe inspiring views from the farm yard across Sligo Bay to Ben Bulben, and views from the front of the cottage to Knocklane and the beautiful Donegal Mountains. Set in spacious grounds and with direct access to the beach across the owner’s land, this Sligo cottage is a short walk from the town land of Maugherow, and offers a real "get away" location without being too isolated. There are many things to see and do from the cottage, such as numerous walks, horse riding, fishing and the area is well known for its flora and fauna. There are plenty of great golf courses, some beside the ocean, including Rosses Point, Strandhill, Enniscrone and Bundoran. In the evenings, why not take a short walk down to the Raghley dock and watch the local fishing fleet land its catch, then sample one of the village pubs and enjoy an evening of true Irish hospitality, music and dancing? Alternatively why not take a romantic evening stroll to the beach and watch the sun set over the impressive Ben Bulben Mountain?

Previous visitors' comments about Castlegrange Farm:
The cottage is ideally located 20 mins from Sligo and a perfect base for
touring the surrounding countryside and coastline. It has private access through the fields to the beach where our daughters spent many a happy hour in the rock pools and swimming in the sea. There is a large grassy area at
the front of the house - ideal for playing frisbee! The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and is ideal for families with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We found lots of logs nearby to use on the wood burning stove but the local shop does sell peat which has a lovely smell! We certainly hope to return to Castle Grange again and would recommend it as a perfect holiday getaway.

Excellent location for a get away from it all break. House is recently refurbished and very comfortable, traditional with all mod cons. Best of all is private access to Ardtermon Strand which is ideal for a walk or to let the kids run free and explore rock pools. Very close to Sligo and other attractions like Rosses Pt and Lough Gill. Yeats's grave is nearby and worth a visit. Really enjoyed and would recommend this to anyone interested in holidaying in Sligo.
