Location: Llanuwchllyn

Bala 5 miles; Dolgellau 13 miles.

The traditional Welsh village of Llanuwchllyn is situated 5 miles from the popular town of Bala, at the southern end of Bala Lake, the largest natural body of water in Wales. The village offers a pub (with shop) serving excellent food, along with a petrol station, but is best known as the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway, which provides a 9 mile scenic journey along the shores of the famous lake. The bustling market town of Bala is nearby, renowned as a centre for great water-sports including fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and white water rafting. The town itself is steeped in history and has a range of interesting shops, inns, restaurants and an historical Town Walk. Surrounded by the wonderful Berwyn mountain range, this is a mecca for walking, cycling and other outdoor activities. An ideal location for touring North and Mid Wales including the stunning North Wales Heritage Coast and all the attractions of Snowdonia National Park.
