  • "We absolutely love the bungalow, it ticks all the boxes for us, from its remote location, to the facilities it offers, from enjoying the pool room to having a leisurely soak in the hot tub, even in January."

We book this particular venue every year and have already booked for 2025. I would buy this property if it ever came up for sale, we already affectionately call it our 2nd home

Thanks for your wonderful feedback Steve. We're so happy you love the place. We'll be seeing you in 2025 Property Owner

  • "We loved this place."

Loads of space for the money, lovely warm heating system, enclosed garden for the dogs. The location is lovely, quiet and reasonably secluded, with only the odd farm vehicle or car passing on the lane during the day. The beds could do with better mattresses, and the remotes for the TV and Freesat box are a bit worn out and hard to use. The kitchen could also do with a tin opener! But these were all minor niggles that couldn't spoil a lovely week at the bungalow. We are very likely to book again!

  • "Loved our 2 week break at this property."

It is in a wonderful setting, total peace and quiet. The property was spotlessly clean. The furniture is a bit tired and most of the recliner mechanics dont work. Some of the crockery needs replacing due to chips and scratches. The hot tub was a welcome addition even though again it could do with a bit of attention, no doubt these things are due to the amount of use they get and not everyone being as respectful as they should be. It would have been useful to have some information regarding local shops and supermarkets, or an option to order a basic starter pack of bread, milk, eggs due to the remoteness of the property and the late check in time, especially in the winter months when it gets very dark very quickly. It would also have helped to know what day the refuse was collected especially for a two week stay as the bin isn't very big. That being said it didn't stop us having a lovely time.

Thanks for your wonderful feedback, we're glad you enjoyed your 2 week stay. Yes agree with some tired furniture that need changing, it will be done as soon as. We hope to see you again in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely rural and quiet location with amazing views."

Locals were very friendly. The nearby Elan valley was great to visit with amazing Dams in a short drive. Very surprised how quiet it was, especially being half term. Bungalow was very spacious and clean. Games room was a bonus the kids, especially visiting Wales in Autumn. Bungalow had everything we needed but at the same time had a simplicity that I like. Shower was fab, very powerful and bonus of a bath which my daughter loves. Managed to get in the hot tub a couple of times between storms! Got a bit muddy around the hot tub which made it quite messy and slippery, especially when trying to remove and replace the cover. Just a minor niggle. Smart tv so able to watch Netflix on those cold rainy eves. Plenty of spacious parking by the door. Great for packing and unpacking car in harsh weather. My little dog loved watching the sheep. Few Red Kites flying over, even a couple of Jets. We didn’t visit for the walks but a perfect location if this is what you want to do. Couldn’t fault the place and the price was good. Hopefully they won’t suddenly hike the prices up. If not I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Thanks for your lovely feedback on the bungalow. We're very happy you enjoyed your stay. We're glad you visited Elan Valley it's a beautiful place and its right next to our doorstep. In regards to the hot tub, it's mostly the weather and we will be covering it shortly. We hope to see you in the near future. Property Owner

I loved the fact we were not next door to any owners and had complete peace and quiet. Sitting in the hot tub watching red kites fly overhead was just about perfect, hope to return at some point.

  • "Such a beautiful location, we loved our stay and will have no problem returning here, it was wonderful!"

Large and spacious holiday home, we found the property to be in good repair and clean. Beds super comfortable, safe garden for the dogs to be in. The views were magnificent, parking fantastic too, I had a sense of privacy here, even though there’s a farm near the location, you were not overlooked at all, the hot tub was great. I had to contact the owner around getting the cooker to work, as no instructions on how to use it. They were very helpful, the cooker was great, a good selection of pots, pans etc. The hot water was so hot! This could be turned down a degree or two. Dishwasher, washing machine all worked well, clothes horse in the ‘games’ room. My only criticisms- no walking guides, and no pamphlets on the local area or places to visit so I’ve left some in the welcome folder from days out I’d had. Finishing touches, some items I expected to see were not there, no hairdryer, no tea pot, no salt, pepper or extra cleaning products, one tea towel, one bin bag. So I’d pack some kitchen bits. No towel rail in the bathroom. I think I also have to note, we stayed in the hottest week. Impossible to open the windows as the flies came in, so a fan or two might be a nice touch, but overall we loved our stay. Thank you

Thanks for your wonderful feedback. We have since put some instructions in regarding the cooker. Property Owner

  • "We had a great week here with our friends and dogs."

It was the dogs first holiday and they had the best time! The garden is enclosed so they could run around and we could also walk them up and down the lane. It was so peaceful and all we could hear were the birds and the sheep! The bungalow was well equipped. The pool table was an added bonus on a wet day and the hot tub was amazing whether sunny or overcast. It would have been even more amazing if we’d had a couple of sun beds or loungers so we could have relaxed and taken in the fantastic views. We’d definitely return!

Thank you for your great feedback. We will certainly take your advice on board in regards to the sun loungers. Property Owner

  • "The beds were extremely uncomfortable, mattresses were not fit for purpose."

Very badly sprung. The shower heating could not be controlled due the thermostatic handle being faulty. The TV in the lounge, the freesat remote did not work correctly, the OK button was faulty. Overall quality of kitchen utensils were poor. Example- potato peeler, knife were broken, and all pans were not non stick. Hot Tub - chlorine levels very high, head rests were broken and ended up floating in the water, the rubber from the head rests also had flaked off and left a sand like substance in the water which ended affecting your swim wear. I would not rate as a 4/5 star cottage on this occasion due to these issues. When paying £500+ for 3 nights you would expect a far better overall experience.

Thank you for your feedback, in regards to the mattresses we purchased all new ones around 4 months ago. We have not received any complaints about the shower o'r the tv remote. Truly sorry about the kitchen utensils, we will take this advice on board. The hot tub chlorine levels can't have been high as we do not use Chlorine. We use bromine tablets because that's much safer. Thank you for you're feedback we will certainly take it all on board. Property Owner

The cottage was warm, comfortable, clean, spacious and the facilities were generally good. We especially enjoyed the hot tub coupled the rural location which gave us a good sence of privacy and a fantastic view of the stars due to the reduced light pollution. The cottage had most the things we needed but just lacked some of the smaller things which we have enjoyed in other cottages such as salt, pepper, tea coffee and milk. These small things can make a big difference especially whrn you first arrive. I would definitely consider staying in this cottage again.

There was no signpost at the entrance like we were told and also it wasn’t a gated driveway like we were told so struggled to find it. The dart board had holes in it, we didn’t have a full set of pool balls. The bathroom light went on our first stay which was no one’s fault however we messaged the owner and didn’t even get a reply let alone someone round to fix it. We also couldn’t find any walks from the building nor could we get the living room fire to work and the beds were uncomfortable

The bungalow and surrounding area are gorgeous. The hot tub is amazing although very hot to begin with so we kept it at 34 degrees. The bungalow is very spacious with a great games room. Although the dart board needs replacing. The mattress’s on all 3 beds are very uncomfortable with the biggest bed being the worst. We wouldn’t stay here again until these have been changed as it made my hip sore by the end of the week. The shower tray is cracked and water started coming out underneath so could do with replacing. It just needs a few things sorting for it to be perfect.

This time we enjoyed a longer stay of 5 nights in the beautiful Elan Valley. We visit every year, every time finding or doing something new. It truly is one of the most beautiful areas of mid Wales. The bungalow is spacious, clean and well equipped. The only thing I felt was missing was an outside space to dry clothes (a line or clothes horse to take outside would be good) but it didn't affect the holiday, just bring one if you think you will have good enough weather to dry clothes outside! The location is stunning. Rolling hills, sheep, lambs and kites out of every window. At night dark skies filled with stars! It is about 2 and half miles away from the nearest shop so have what you need with you when arriving. Fabulous trails to run and walk and great cycle routes. There is a great off road walking/cycle path going from Rhayader all the way to the reservoirs (probably not so suitable for a road bike as there are many gates to open and close! but safe for kids and those less confident on the roads). There is SO much more to see and do here. Riverside walks, paddling, access to kayaking in the River Wye. Leave the car parked somewhere safe and explore this wonderful place! We'll be back (maybe without the children so we can do even more exploring!!!)

A gardener turned up out of the blue and when I asked the caretaker if we could expect any more visitors, I did not receive a reply. The hot tub is listed as 'private', but it is in full view of a working farm and the road, so its not private at all, only at night-time. The mattresses were not comfortable. You could feel the springs on your body and some had a dip in the middle. I would recommend changing them. Although there is an iron, it wasn't very good. The bungalow also didn't have many personal touches to make it feel homely, it was quite cold and functional. With all that said, the bungalow was nice and big, well equipped with white goods, crockery etc, the surroundings were very beautiful and it's nicely situated from the Elan Valley and 5 mins from the local town Rhayader. There wasn't any tea/coffee/sugar/milk/salt/cooking oil etc so do bring them with you or buy some upon arrival.

It was perfect for our 16 month old and we felt relaxed and like it was home from home. The hot tub and the views from it were amazing, we would highly recommend time in the hot tub in the evening with the amazing starry sky - hardly any light pollution! We loved the super king bed & will miss that lots. Half way through the week we were asked how things were which was good. The WiFi was great, especially as we didn’t get phone signal. The games room was freezing so we didn’t venture into it, but the heating in the rest of the place was perfect and it was quick to heat. We visited The Ela Valley many times, Devil’s bridge and Gilfach nature reserve. We also did lots of green laning in the Landry. We organised a Tesco delivery! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and loved it being so remote and quiet. Was definitely one of these best holidays we have had. The only negatives were that it didn’t have much personal touch like a guest book or reccommendation book. We also did not meet Carl the owner and that might have been nice. He wasn’t great at responding to texts in the lead up to our stay. The smart tv was fab but we couldn’t really watch it as streaming was too slow.
