  • "Super holiday property for our group of 3 families."

Everything has been thought of and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for everyone. The kids particularly liked the games table, dartboard and cinema room. The beds were all very comfortable and the wet room showers were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and we were grateful for the 2 fridges and the huge dining table.

  • "We stayed at rolling hills for a week, there was 11 of us all together and we all thoroughly enjoyed it."

The most peaceful and relaxing place we have ever been too. The place was a good 10 minute drive from anywhere but we didn't mind and loved this. It was nice to spend lots of quality time with the children going on bug hunts and exploring the surrounding area. The hammocks where a major hit and used everyday by both the adults and the children. Only quarms we had where the kettles needed descaling that was it really any issues we had where addressed right away after a quick message. We will most probably be returning at some point in the future.

We are a large family who love walking and spending time in the great outdoors. The property was perfect for this sort of holiday. It is set in the most beautiful location which feels adventurous but it is also cozy and easy to keep clean. There are lots of lovely places to visit within easy striking distance so it's a good base to explore the area. The grounds themselves are also very spacious so stay at home days are just as fun!

  • "We had a fabulous holiday at Rolling Hills and would highly recommend to any families who love stunning views, walking, peace and quiet."

The space was great for our group of 11 and allowed separate families privacy when needed. The roundhouses are comfortable and are very warm and cosy when the wood stoves are lit at night (this was a quick and easy process). The main building has a very large and well-equipped kitchen; a spacious living room with enough sofas for everyone and a gigantic smart TV and a small games room, which the children loved. Highlights of our holiday included being able to let the children roam around the fields, walking along Offa's Dyke Way which borders the property, stargazing from hammocks outside and sitting by the pizza oven outside at night, listening to owls hoot. The accommodation is down an extremely bumpy farm track and the nearest shop is some distance away, so we appreciated the starter pack of treats from the owners. The only inconvenience was the lack of showers in the roundhouses, though there was a toilet and washbasin in each roundhouse and two large shower rooms a short walk away in the main building. We had a great break and would love to visit again.

There are lots of walks you can do right from the door, and the views from the property are amazing. There are also lots of picturesque and interesting places to visit nearby. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, and the owners are friendly and helpful. All round, a great experience!

  • "Rolling Hills provided the perfect break for us and two other families."

Be prepared......to actually get there you drive down tiny lanes for a few miles, which was a little daunting at first. But once done a few times you get used to it and learn some lanes are easier to navigate than others! However, once there, it's idyllic. The views are absolutely beautiful! The kids enjoyed having the freedom to enjoy the countryside. And it was so peaceful. My absolute favourite part was the evenings, sitting around the fire pit, a glass of wine, chatting and looking at the incredible night sky without any light polution. First one to spot a shooting star!!!! The accommodation was ideal, two yurts plus bedrooms in the main cabin meant everyone had their own space, but could be together in the communal areas. It was incredibly clean and tidy, and the beds were so comfortable (and enormous!) I'd really recommend Rolling Hills for folk who want to get away from it all, enjoy quality time with friends or family in a stunning location.

We had a lovely stay. Everything was excellent in every way. Beautiful views and lovely area. Very well equipped with everything we needed and very clean and comfortable.Wonderful isolation for peace and quiet and recharge your batteries.Short walk from property to Offas Dyke path. One member of the party had some difficulty as the lanes to access the property are very narrow and full of potholes as he has a low car. Will certainly return. Thank you for your great hospitality. Highly recommend for a quiet and peaceful holiday.

Glorious views and oh so peaceful. It was ideal for the children too - we didn't have to worry about where they were/what they were doing. The pizza oven was a great touch, as were the hammocks. The bedrooms are really spacious and airy, and beautifully furnished - and very cozy in the cooler evenings with the woodburner. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and simple living, Rolling Hills is the place to go.

  • "Wonderful place with everything you need provided for."

A quiet place away from the crowds but also a safe place for children to let off steam and explore and connect with nature. A good find and recommended. It would be helpful to have information as to which roads are suitable for ordinary cars. The first day was spent getting lost as the satnav took us down lanes which simply became rubble or were gated. Other lanes vary from what one would expect, to heavily potholed. After a few days we found our way about but the person who has just bought a new Jag for the holiday may not be too amused!

The property

The Property: 6 miles from Bishop's Castle. Located near Bishop's Castle Shropshire on the border of Wales is a unique and interesting property featuring 2 quirky roundhouses which are located on either side of the main building. Rolling Hills is situated in 50 acres of green fields with a babbling stream at the bottom of the valley. Rolling Hills is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life as there is no noise or light pollution and is ideal for families and groups to enjoy a break in the English countryside or that Romantic week end away with that special someone snuggled up in front of the wood burner looking up through the clear dome at the star lit sky from inside the comforts of the round house. This property comes with stunning panoramic views of the south Shropshire hills with Offa's Dyke at the end of the field and Bishop's Castle in the distance, an ideal location for hill walking or cycle rides on quiet country lanes. Rolling Hills has a rather unusual layout with two identical roundhouses in separate buildings either side of the main communal living area.

The roundhouses, Ash and Maple are astoundingly different with only natural light coming through a large clear dome in the centre of the roof, lighting up what is an eccentric, fascinating open plan living area. The only major difference between the two is the type of wood on the walls, Ash being clad with ash wood and Maple being clad with maple wood.

Both pods are almost identical inside, finished with large contemporary king size beds, and two Futons which are ideal for children up to the age of 14, a sleeping bag and pillow are provided for the Futons.

The rooms also have en suite basin and WC, comfortable reclining chairs, a wood burner and a 42 inch Smart TV, creating the perfect living space. The communal living area is nothing short of spectacular with two spacious wet rooms and an immaculate kitchen diner, one double bedroom with large king sized bed and smart TV, one twin bedroom with 2 single beds and smart TV and a large Cinema room with 75 inch smart TV with enough comfortable seating for up to 14 people.

There is also a Games room with a dart board, a combi football/pool table and more comfortable seating for enjoying stunning views down the valley, making this the perfect spot for the group to come together for relaxation and plan the activities of the day.
