This scattered village lies between the pretty town of Dolgellau and the coastal resort of Barmouth, and is situated at the head of the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, overlooked by the stunning Cader Idris Mountain Range. The town of Dolgellau is located in the heart of southern Snowdonia, between the imposing Cader Idris mountains and the sea. It's a superb base for a holiday - perfect for combining the many outdoor pursuits on offer in Snowdonia with relaxing days out on the soft sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. Dolgellau offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there are excellent restaurants in many of the nearby coastal resorts. A location for quiet outdoor recreation with superb scenery, mountains, forests, waterfalls, castles and beaches all close to hand, but without the crowds!

Dolgellau is only 2 miles away, offering shops, pubs and restaurants; a perfect base for the Snowdonia National Park and stunning coastline. There is a wonderful 2 mile walk from this Dolgellau cottage, up to a lovely hillside lake providing marvellous hill and mountain views, and only 5 miles away is the renowned mountain bike centre at Coed y Brenin. This Dolgellau cottage is wonderfully situated for enjoying mountain biking, watersports and the huge sandy beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne. At the end of the day return to this delightful Dolgellau cottage and relax.

Excellent base, clean and well equipped cottage. We enjoyed exploring North Wales and the weather was kind. We ate out lots as well as visiting National Trust properties and Portmerion. We had several good walks as well as a shopping trip to Shrewsbury.

Great cottage with nice people around including the local village, also the restaurant across the road is a must.
It is not cheap but I would pay more the the quality of the food. Good visit to Barmouth.
