The property

Top House is a beautifully presented end-terrace cottage close to the border with Wales and Shropshire and a short drive from historic Montgomery.

This charming cottage is full of character with an abundance of exposed beams, warming Rayburn and lovely slate floors.

There are three spacious bedrooms on the first floor, each with its own TV and attractive en-suite bathroom.

Downstairs the well-equipped kitchen has its own comfortable seating and dining areas with TV and opens out onto the spacious sitting room with cosy woodburning stove and an additional dining area.

Outside there is a rear patio, perfect for sitting back and relaxing after a day’s sightseeing.

There is also space in the carport for storing muddy boots after a day spent walking.

The village of Forden is ideally located a couple of miles from Welshpool, perfect for visiting the renowned Powis Castle and gardens.

Why not take a ride on the Welshpool and Llanfair railway, try your hand at a round of golf or simply enjoying a stroll or leisurely cycle ride alongside the Montgomery Canal?

The historic market town of Montgomery is a pleasant place to explore with its mixture of timber-framed houses, Georgian and Victorian architecture and 13th century hilltop castle.

Discover the secrets of winemaking at the award-winning Kerry Vineyard or take a stroll in the beautiful Glansevern Hall Gardens and along the canal to the picturesque black and white village of Berriew, just short drives away.

If you fancy a change of scenery, the coastal town of Aberystwyth is around 50 miles away.

Montgomery 3 miles; Welshpool 5 miles.

The villages of Kingswood and Forden are situated between Welshpool and Montgomery. The villages have two pubs, The Cock Hotel and the Railway Inn, a school, church and two garages. They are close to the border with Shropshire and to the Offa's Dyke footpath and the Long Mountain is within sight. This is a fantastic area for walking and there are stunning views of Powys Castle from the Beacons Ring. The Royal Forestry Society's arboretum in Leighton, a short distance away, is home to some spectacular Californian Redwood trees. Montgomery is five miles away and this bustling market town is surrounded by rolling hills and glorious unspoilt countryside. There are a unique blend of shops offering arts & crafts, fashion & leisure, fresh produce, and quality pubs and restaurants, as well as the town centre’s restored cock fighting pit and interesting Heritage Trail. Visit the famous 13th century Powis castle, the renowned Dingle Gardens and the Llanfair Light Railway.
