  • "We had such a relaxing stay at Tegfan."

The cottage is beautiful with stunning views from every window. It is extremely warm and welcoming. It is also very well equipped and clean, the owners have thought of everything. The Wi-Fi is great and I had no problem with my phone signal. The garden is huge and fully enclosed. The fixtures and fittings are all of good quality and there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was appreciated. The property is extremely dog friendly. The hot tub adds the wow factor. The area is outstanding, we had fabulous walks in the Elan Valley. Even though it rained for a couple of days, it did not dampen our spirits, it was lovely to sit in the conservatory watching the weather. Rhayader is a very nice village with plenty of places to eat and shops to buy provisions. We would love to return at some point. In short I would unreservedly recommend Tegfan.

Would definitely recomend the red kite feeding station in Rhayader, and had a lovely meal in the Crown. The Elan Valley dams are also worth a visit. It really was a home away from home. The cottage had everything we needed and the hot tub was a real treat. The kids especially loved it. The cottage is in a great location, close to a couple of shops and a lovely chippy (which we used during our stay). It was really clean, modern and comfortable. Literally the only suggestion for improvement from us would be for the master bed to be a bit bigger. It’s currently a double but was a little small for us. Everything else was perfect, thanks for our wonderful stay!

Tegfan is a little remote, you need transport to get anywhere, but we were aware of that when we booked. The positive is being in the countryside away from hustle and bustle, though just a short drive to amenities and places of interest. Our stay at Tegfan was all we hoped and planned for and some more. • "Well I don’t really know where to start!"

It was all so lovely! Tegfan is a lovely bungalow that’s just been recently renovated by the owners, Leanne and Graham, to the highest standard. Everything has been thought of, all the finer details as well as the quality of the main house building. It was warm and cosy, immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need for a week. The conservatory was the best room, the sun rise in the mornings behind the mountains was stunning. The kitchen had everything you'd need, we cooked a full chicken roast with all the trimmings, as well as other meals. There were dishwasher tabs, washing machine tabs, condiments and washing up liquid, dog bowls and so much more...so no need to bring your own stuff! Tegfan also boasts a fenced in secure garden for kids and dogs with a lovely big grassy lawn for lots of fun. Bedrooms were comfy, lovely duvets, and the view from the main bedroom was stunning, a perfect wake up treat! WiFi provided was good and fast, but as a heads-up, signal on 3 or EE was not good enough to make or receive phone calls. There were lots of telly channels on the sky telly. Left until last, but best of all, was the super hot tub. We spent many hours in there just watching the landscape (our nearest neighbours were the sheep) change with the weather while we were so relaxed after a long days walk, exactly what the doctor ordered! Plastic wine glasses were provided for that added luxury of being able to enjoy a glass or two while relaxing. This was a super holiday let, we’ve been to several different ones and this one tops the lot! Locally there are a few good pubs for food, the best by far was The Triangle (recommended by Graham) in Rhayader, super friendly staff and customers and amazing food. In fact everyone we met were really chatty and friendly we felt very welcome wherever we went. Do not miss the stunning Elan Valley, a real eye opener for jaw dropping views! Thank you Leanne and Graham for the loan of your lovely little pink house on the hill, we couldn’t fault it! Hope to be back when the reservoirs in Elan Valley are full to overflowing!
