    • “5 things wrong with this cottage.....”

    • “1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Having had 2 new additions to the family last year in the form of 2 Cockers, our hot, beach, overseas holidays are on hold for the time being hence a 4 night booking at Vrongoch, and we can't believe how much we enjoyed our break! The very informal/relaxed arrival to the unlocked property was extremely welcome as it gave us time to look around. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean & very spacious; the views incredible and the peace beyond description. We live in a very quiet area but the silence at Vrongoch is a whole new level. It's almost surreal to sit outside with a glass of wine and not hear anything (in between the sheep baaa's in the distance!). We cannot recommend this property highly enough, although the existing reviews do this anyway. Would we stay there again? Yes - tomorrow if we could.....”

    • “Vrongoch - the perfect place to stay.”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “Once again we returned to Vrongoch for a family holiday and were definitely not disappointed. As soon as we arrived and entered this wonderful holiday cottage, which is set amongst stunning scenery in such a peaceful location we remembered why we like it so much. The table in the kitchen, all set for tea was a lovely welcome. We'd not been there long when we received a visit from the owner, welcoming us. We were told not to hesitate to contact her if we needed anything or had any questions during our stay. For the remainder of the holiday we were left to use and enjoy the cottage and its surroundings as if it were our own but with the assurance that help was at hand should we need it. The cottage is superbly equipped to ensure that young or old you have everything you need for the perfect break. From the freshly made beds to the cosy living room it really is home from home. It was so nice to find everything so clean and fresh and, despite dogs being allowed in the cottage it was good to find no trace of any dogs having been there. The hot tub is real bonus with fantastic views and a great place to forget all your worries and cares and lose yourself. You can relax with peace of mind in the knowledge that the owner will come and check the water levels and the chemical balance throughout your stay but without disturbing you. In fact you probably won't even notice that she has been! The garden is lovely and we were blessed with good weather, allowing us to make the most of the lovely garden bench and table. There is an abundance of wildlife and it was great to watch the visitors to the bird table from the comfort of the living room and at night to stand outside and hear the owls calling whilst admiring a sky full of stars. If you are looking for a holiday or short break in this quiet, unspoilt area of Wales, in a clean and comfortable cottage then I would thoroughly recommend Vrongoch - like us, you won't be disappointed.”

    • “This is the third time we have stayed at the 1 of the owners cottages and have throughly enjoyed it . We had slight problem with heating and the owner couldn't have been more helpful providing electric heaters and extra wood for the wood burner if required. When we arrived the hot tub room was full of condensation when we informed the owner we were told that the previous occupants had left the lid off the hot tub. Everytime we have been to one of the cottages they have been welcoming and clean, table set with welcoming biscuits, milk and things for the kids. Even though the owner has to visit daily to check hot tub, we never see or hear her. As for the garden, the kids are safe and entertained by the swings etc within grounds. Not sure where the previous reviewer has stayed but does not sound like the same cottage as us. We have enjoyed the stays with these cottages and we go twice a year and already booked both stays for next year already!”

    • “Faultless Holiday”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “Found this holiday absolutely brilliant! Where to start, when we walked in there was a welcome pack (containing food, perfect!), the heating on, and a very inviting hot tub. After unpacking we met the owner who was absolutely lovely, she couldn't have been any more helpful. She showed us how to work the hot tub, and on entering the hot tub room I was amazed, the views are stunning, I could have quite literally stayed in the hot tub for the entirety of the trip (although I would have ended the trip looking like a prune if that had happened). The owner recommended walks around the local common, a trip to the élan valley and also recommend great places to eat. All recommendations we did and had a splendid time. One thing I must mention about this cottage, we have been to many others but this one was by far the best, there was, tea, coffee, sugar, bin bags, washing powder, washing liquid, salt, pepper etc which you don't find at many, and it was at no additional cost to use these items. For that I really did thank the owners. We arranged for Tesco to deliver our groceries but we were actually delayed in getting to the cottage sight seeing on the way. We rang the owner and she received the delivery and put all the chilled items in the fridge which I thought was most kind of her. I have just read the reviews below and on arrival the owner mentioned someone would be up to check the hot tub regularly for health and safety purposes which was fine with us. All in all it was an absolutely perfect stay. We went as a couple for a week and spent 2 nights in each room, so felt like we went on 3 different holidays in one trip, all of the rooms were wonderful and all of the beds very comfy. (I did look and for added comfort there are mattress toppers, a massive thumbs up from me because they can be cleaned a lot easier than mattresses) We have rebooked this cottage and have also been told the owners have 2 others, so we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you so much to the owners, see you again soon.”

    • “Peacefull haven”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “The welcome as we walked through the door was great-after quite a long journey the sight of a table laid for a welcome brew with complimentary cake as well as tea, coffee, sugar and a pint of milk in the fridge was just what we needed. The cottage is in a very quiet location so you need to plan your shopping well. The view from the hot-tub is stunning. The accommodation and bedding is very clean without being "untouchable". The owner is lovley and even though we were there when the heating is normally off- when it dropped cold she came round and turned the central heating on again. A gesture much appreciated.”

    • “Stayed with sister-in-law and her disabled husband. It rained every single day but it was still a wonderful holiday due to the home from home feeling of the property. We all felt really comfortable. It was clean and well equipped with a Welcome Pack all laid out on the table for our arrival. We stayed in January 2014 and were toasty warm at all times. Elan Valley is a must even on a wet and windy day. The hot tub was great most evenings and the view from the property is outstanding. We will definitely go back again in more clement weather. The owner was extremely helpful but not intrusive and offered to show us around their farm. We would have loved this had the weather been on our side.”

    • “We enjoyed a break at this cottage which the owners have made to feel like a second home, there is nothing you can think of that is not there to make you feel comfortable and at home. Lovely clean property with a fab hot tub and views. Only downside was the amount of flies, we went in the summer and maybe as located near a farm...it was annoying but hey ho thats the countryside! The hot tub is fab. Location wise it is very scenic and peaceful but quite a distance from amenities. We really enjoyed it and would recommend the property definitely”
