The owners looked after us very well and the overall experience was very good. However the brochure description is slightly misleading as there are 4 holiday cabins on this site and the views are restricted by trees which encircle the entire site. The lodges are basically equipped but lack washing machines, tumble driers and dishwashers although there is evidence of plumbing for such devices. The local pub has closed and the nearest food is now a 2-3 minuter drive away or a reasonable walk but along a very busy fast road. The lodges were comfortable and warm and we could control the heating which in September was good.
Llandrindod Wells 3 miles.
The scattered village of Crossgates sits amid wonderful wooded hills in Mid Wales, and has a post office, general store, pub and petrol station. Wonderful walking is on offer practically from the village itself, with trails and paths meandering their way through woodland and along rivers, or for more challenging terrain, simply drive the short distance to the nearby Cambrian Mountains or the spectacular Brecon Beacons. Visit Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader or Builth Wells to find a variety of shops, museums, craft centres, pubs, tea-rooms and restaurants. Visit the Red Kite feeding station at Rhayader, which offers a fantastic opportunity to see these beautiful birds at close range, take a trip to the peaceful Elan Valley Lakes or test your nerve at the Phil Price Rally School. A perfect base for the whole family.
This property can be found on page 209 of the 2010 Sykes Main Brochure 2nd Ed , page 208 of the 2010 Sykes Main Brochure 1st Ed

Our preference is for log cabins and this year I found this one on your site! I still can not believe the price we had to pay for Chestnut Lodge! The Lodge was brilliant!!!
Outside and in! Well kept, great outside, patio & furniture.
We loved it and had a great time! We would love to come back again and would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates this kind of accommodation.
