  • "We spent a nice, relaxing week at Trout Cottage."

No complaints whatsoever, the cottage was clean and comfortable, accessible to various places of interest and very close to the River Wye for plenty of fly fishing. Jonathan and Chee were available for advice and shared fruit and vegetables from their orchard. Overall, a lovely week.

Dear Ann and Ian, it was lovely to meet you. I am very glad that you enjoyed the visit to Glaslyn. We hope to see you again soon. Best regards Jonathan and Chee Property Owner

  • "Trout Cottage has everything you need for a truly relaxing break."

The kitchen is very well equipped , the beds very comfortable, the sofa and armchairs too. Would thoroughly recommend. The cottage has been totally refurbished and was spotlessly clean. The location was very peaceful and we watched woodpeckers and jays feeding every morning. Lovely stroll along the river and easy access by car to the local towns.

  • "Great little cottage, well equipped, comfortable, light and airy."

Set in lovely manicured grounds. Situated a short walk from a most beautiful stretch of the river Wye. The £20 weekly fly fishing ticket is great value and it’s great fun trying to catch the pretty brown trout. I had a fantastic week. Many thanks to the owners.

  • "Trout Cottage is nestled on the most gorgeous Estate with the River Wye metres away (which is honestly breathtaking to look at), the cottages are newly refurbished and are honestly perfect; they easily exceeded my expectations - the photos do not do them justice at all."

Equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable staycation. Location could not have been any better, minutes away from Rhayader in the car and a 12 minute drive from Elan Valley, which is an absolute must see as well as easily reaching the coat and Devils Bridge Falls in less than a hour. I cannot fault Our stay, thanks Jonathan and Chee.

  • "A very tired property, with sagging furniture and chipped crockery."

Three mugs only available, the drying rack was dirty and rusty, and all the controls on the cooker somewhat greasy to the touch.. The shower failed on three consecutive nights, at different times. The owner noted to us that this had never happened before, but that did not affect the fact or provide us with running hot water. The location is excellent, but not the standard of the property. We did not get what we paid for, especially with regard to hot water.

  • "We had a great week (early September)."

Excellent location: nice to walk along the river and watch birds & fish. Friendly and helpful host, with good hints for day-trips (e.g. Elan Valley, Gigrin Farm Red Kites, Machynlleth, Hay-on-Wye, etc). Internet a bonus. Safe to say; we would return.

  • "The surroundings were beautiful, the french windows meant just siting looking was a pleasure, we lost count of the number of bird species we saw."

The lack of internet and mobile phone signals just made the holiday more restful. It was a great place for visiting Aberyswyth, Carmarthen, Brecon, Ludlow, Hereford, Worcester, Shrewsbury and all places in between. The real highlight was the nearby Red Kite feeding station of Gilgrin. Amazing.
