  • "We had a lovely time staying at Rivers Nook."

The property is small, but has everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, nice recliner sofa to relax in the evening after a day of exploring! Nice little garden and patio area to sit out in the sun, with the river flowing just outside. The shower didn't have the best water, but it was ok. Overall, a very pleasant stay! Thank you!

Kevin the owner arrived just shortly after we did and was so kind and helpful. The chalet has everything that you could ever need for a great escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Fantastic village pub just a very short stroll down the road. Can't thank Kevin enough for all his help. I Highly recommend a stay at this stunning location. I forgot to put my comments in your visitors book.Sorry Kevin but we had to leave very early on the morning of our departure due to our ongoing situation with my uncles ill health. I really believe vesper our puppy knew he was on his holidays! Local pub just a couple minutes walk, food hit and miss but staff so welcoming and friendly, take supplies with you as lodge really well furnished for you to cook, and nearest shop is a good drive. We had it booked for one week, but unfortunately this was cut short . Kevin so kindly offered us a free weekend to make up for our unplanned return home, such a lovely thought, thanks Kevin it’s kind gestures like this that goes along way with customers, you really have something special and we will return ,, Paul, jo and vesper xxx

Pleasant position overlooking the river where we were lucky enough to see an otter. Lots of birds and the sound of the resident owl. Rivers Nook, although small, had everything we needed including lovely neighbours. Good communication with the owner and straightforward instructions regarding the property. We will definitely return and we recommend to others.

    Other than that, nice holiday.

  • "It's a lovely setting just by the river."

However the farmers field just outside the patio has his cows crossing to it and is unusable by us and our springer. The bed is very comfortable, insuring a good nights sleep. A tight squeeze as little space at the foot of the bed! Hot water scolding hot, but found the boiler and turned the stat down. Enjoyed our stay, relaxing and peaceful. Whilst it is compact it has everything you need. Patio for dining and relaxing on the warm sunny days. A good base from which to explore the area's villages and lakes. Not as full of tourist as North Wales.

  • "Location lovely & accurate description of that."

Owner done great job of making the garden secure for pets. Plenty of hot water which was good, & everything worked. However that is where the positive ends. The chalet is by no stretch of the imagination stylish & contemporary as you describe. The bedroom & bathroom are so small & cramped that you could not dress/undress in them. Ample crockery / cutlery etc but the kitchen cupboards needed sorting & at least one emptying to allow room to put your own self catering stuff. We had boxes on the floor, which in a small place is not ideal. Lounge area seating not good - one of the 2 chairs looked broken underneath so a good job they were close together so it didn't tip over. Just no degree of comfort at all inside & as the level of cleanliness very mediocre the overall feel was grubby. But all this has been passed on to your Customer Care team & we are awaiting feedback as we returned home after only 1 night. Still waiting for that! The reason we didn't contact either you or the owner before returning is that nothing could have been done to rectify the main problem which was down to lack of space & comfort. We expected small (we are small at home) but that for us was not acceptable. I think your description of the chalet should include dimensions so people are aware of what to expect

  • "Amazing location!"

So cozy and has everything you need. The view is magnificent and even better than the pictures. There is an enclosed garden and there is fencing so it was completely safe to let our dog out without worrying (unless your dog is used to jumping high, then you may need a longline as there are lots of birds and sheep with lambs nearby). He settled in straight away and really enjoyed the place too. There are two nice pubs 5 minutes walk away, and the people were so friendly and accommodating, which we appreciate when our cocker spaniel was a little excited by his new surroundings. I recommend the Red Ale in the New Inn! There is a lovely walking trail, through the Berwyn mountains just a little further up from the New Inn if you like, but the place is perfect just to relax as well. A nice drive out to Lake Vrnwy provides more beautiful views and the pheasants pottering about the place were lovely to watch. The local shop was a bit of a drive out through to another village if you are self catering, just as an FYI. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely place! A warm welcome from Kevin the owner, including a quick phone call beforehand to check we had directions. The facilities of the cabin were fabulous, couldn't have wanted anything more! Little things like free tea and coffee, and even some fresh milk in the fridge for us to set us up for our arrival. We settled in straight away and what a bonus it was to have a little garden at the side of the cabin and all enclosed - perfect for us as we had our dog with us. The setting is bliss - babbling river, private outlook and all sorts of animals in the field across. The accommodation was spotless, had lots of information about the cabin itself and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend and would love to return in the future!
